When it comes to basketball, the Arenas appear to be exceptionally gifted. Gilbert Arenas, a three-time NBA All-NBA Team member, is well known for his basketball skills and a stellar career that spanned 11 seasons.

His daughter Hamiley Arenas, a 5-foot-10 combo guardm is also an ace basketball player who plays for Notre Dame Sherman Oaks in Los Angeles, California. But Alijah Arenas, the eldest of Gilbert Arenas children, had turned out to be a real prodigy.

He's a five-star prospect and is fifth in the list of top basketball recruits in the 2026 class. But could he reach the stature of his father? Well, his mother, Laura Govan, thinks he can beat his father, as per TMZ. Although it would be too early to compare him with his father, the junior Arenas has displayed his basketball skills.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard for Chatsworth High School has managed an impressive 33.0 points per game this season. Likewise, in his 62 high school games, he averages 8.8 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 2.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game culminating in an impressive 31.8 points average.

He has a long way to go, and the ace shooting guard is now only focusing on his game.

“I feel like I’m very patient with my game,” he told On3. “I hear a lot about how I play, but most people say that I’m good with my pace. I’m focusing the most right now on getting stronger, and my shooting ability is more consistent.”

If he remains consistent and continues to improve, it could only be only a matter of time before he surpasses his father.
