USC commit Julian Lewis makes thoughts clear on his recruitment process amid offers from Deion Sanders’ Colorado and Indiana

Julian Lewis, a five-star rated quarterback from Carrollton, Georgia, has become a focal point in the college football recruiting landscape. Rated as the nation’s No. 23 overall prospect and the No. 4 quarterback, the 6-foot tall, 190 pound standout has been the subject of intense speculation following visits to both Colorado and Indiana.

These visits have fueled rumors of a potential flip, particularly to Colorado’s program, led by coach Deion Sanders. Despite the growing buzz, Lewis has publicly reaffirmed his commitment to USC, albeit with some language that leaves the door slightly ajar. In a recent television interview, Lewis addressed the swirling rumors:

"As of right now, I'm still locked in with USC. That's still where my home is."

He added, however, that taking visits is a normal part of the recruiting process and implied that he was simply exploring his options.

His recent trip to Colorado appears to have made a significant impression. Reflecting on his time in Boulder, he described it as a "cool weekend," noting the welcoming environment and the high-quality facilities:

"I met a lot of good people while I was in Boulder and definitely noticed the things they did around town," Lewis shared with Sports Illustrated.

While several programs have attempted to sway Lewis throughout the year, the attention has primarily centered on Colorado and Indiana as the fall season approaches.

Julian Lewis shines in nationally televised senior season opener

Julian Lewis, rated the nation’s No. 4 quarterback, took center stage in his high school senior season debut, which aired on ESPN. The USC commit led Carrollton to a 24-14 halftime lead over Woodward Academy (Ga.) with three touchdown passes.

Lewis' first touchdown was a 32-yard pass to junior wide receiver Ryan Mosley, executed on a halfback toss-back trick play. This play gave Carrollton a two-touchdown advantage early in the game.

His second score was a 30-yard dart to Peyton Zachary just before the first quarter ended, setting up Carrollton's 14-7 lead. Lewis's third touchdown, a 42-yard bomb to Mosley, capped a series of three consecutive touchdowns, giving Carrollton a 21-7 cushion in the second quarter.

As a sophomore, Julian Lewis threw for 4,118 yards and 48 touchdowns, followed by a 3,094-yard, 48-touchdown junior season with only two interceptions. Carrollton, which reached the third round of the Georgia 7A playoffs in 2023, will rely on Lewis as he seeks a state title in his final high school season. With three touchdowns in this game, Lewis now boasts 99 career touchdown passes.
