"Used to beat me with these": Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan Anthony jokingly reveals his grandma's weapon of choice while sneaker shopping
Kiyan Anthony, son of former NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony, is one of the best high school prospects in the Class of 2025. The four-star shooting guard has received offers from some of the best programs in the country, including Syracuse, Florida State, USC, Ohio State and Arizona State.
Anthony is also one of the most popular high school athletes in the country. Overtime's YouTube channel airs a show hosted by Anthony, where he shares his personal traits and vlogs his daily life.
In the latest episode of Anthony's show, the shooting guard and his mother, La La Anthony, were in Japan as they posted a video of them exploring the country for 24 hours. The 6-foot-5 athlete also decided to buy some sneakers for himself during his visit to Japan.
While shopping for sneakers, Anthony came across the Bape chancleta slippers and shared a funny anecdote about the footwear and his grandmother.
"Damn look, they got the Bape chancleta," the shooting guard said, as per Overtime's YouTube channel. "My grandmother used to beat me with these when I was younger."
The Glen Head, New York native is expected to sign for the Syracuse Orange, just like his father, who won a NCAA Championship with the program back in 2003.

Anthony spoke about Syracuse and praised the coaching staff earlier this year.
"The coaches were on me the earliest and they've been recruiting me since day one," Anthony said, as per 247Sports. "My guy Sadiq (White) is already going there and they're trying to get a few more players for 2025. I feel like they're really building something there and if I were to go there, I could be a part of that."
Kiyan Anthony is ranked No. 35 nationally and is the ninth-best shooting guard in the Class of 2025, as per On3. He is also the best overall prospect from the state of New York.
