WATCH: Brothers Dylan and Kayden Mingo lead Long Island Lutheran to a victory in the absence of Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan Anthony
The Mingo brothers, Dylan and Kayden Mingo, were the heroes in Long Island Lutheran's victory against Westminster Academy on Saturday. The brothers helped the Crusaders to a 74-47 victory despite the absence of Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan Anthony, who's been the team's focal point.
On Saturday, a SportsCenter Next Instagram post, which includes an image and a short video clip, highlighted the brothers' stats and showcased their performance via a video.
Dylan Mingo, a five-star prospect ranked No. 12 in the 2026 class by ESPN, was especially electrifying, as he ended with 21 points, five assists and four rebounds. The 6-foot-5 point guard, alongside his brother, Kayden, who delivered 16 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals, proved that the Crusaders were more than a one-man team.
Kayden Mingo, a four-prospect who signed with Penn State, is ranked No. 44 in the 2025 class by ESPN.
Omar Essam, a 6-11 junior, and 6-8 Moussa Kamissoko, who is 6-8, chipped in 10 points each.
The consolation semifinal game of the City of Palms Classic tournament was straightforward for Long Island Lutheran as it outscored the Westminster Lions in every quarter.
Long Island Lutheran held Westminster to only five points compared while scoring 18, turning a 10-point first-quarter into a commanding 23-point advantage.
With such a strong performance, it's clear the Crusaders are a strong team despite being without Kiyan Anthony, who is sidelined with an injury.
Dylan Mingo impresses with stellar back-to-back performances
Five-star point guard Dylan Mingo has continued to impress, stepping up in the absence of star teammate Kiyan Anthony, a four-star prospect ranked 36th in the Class of 2025 by ESPN and a Syracuse signee.
Mingo delivered an electrifying 30-point performance in Long Island Lutheran's win over Gateway Charter on Thursday in the City of Palms Classic. And his 21-point delivery against Westminster Academy only put him further in the spotlight.
