WATCH: High school stars Brayden Burries and Mazi Mosley show off electrifying hooping skills during Drew League matchups
High school basketball phenoms Brayden Burries and Mazi Mosley recently captivated audiences with their impressive skills at the highly competitive Drew League.
Founded by Alvin Wills, the league is known for its intense competition and top-tier talent. The Drew League has been a staple in South Central Los Angeles since 1973.
The Drew League has grown immensely over its 50-year history. Legendary players like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and James Harden have all showcased their skills on the Drew League court.
Beyond basketball, the league is supported by the Drew League Foundation, which runs community programs such as gang mentoring and sports initiatives. It also helps NBA players like Baron Davis give back to their roots.
Mosley, a standout guard from St. Francis High School, showcased his defensive prowess and precise passing, which perfectly complemented Burries' scoring abilities.
Burries, a 6-foot-5 guard, is known for his versatile game and consistent production. He showcased his ball-handling skills, creating opportunities in the half-court, and making plays for himself and his teammates.
At the NBPA Top 100 Camp, Brayden Burries averaged 16.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists, ranking among the top 10 in assists.
Mosley, a 6-foot-5 junior shooting guard, has quickly risen as a top prospect in the class of 2025. He was once a baseball player for almost 10 years before starting basketball at 14.
Mosley has come a long way since and is now a standout player who had 24 points per game for St. Francis High School this season. He has even been given a scholarship offer from UCLA.
Brayden Burries attracts national attention as Tennessee joins recruiting battle
Brayden Burries is a standout 6-foot-4, 200-pound combo guard from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in San Bernardino, California. He has received a scholarship offer from the University of Tennessee.
Ranked as the No. 15 prospect in the 2025 class, Burries is also the No. 3 combo guard and the top player in California, according to 247Sports.
Brayden Burries' list of offers is extensive, including prestigious programs such as UCLA, TCU, Washington State, California Baptist, Cal Poly, Ohio State, among many others.
Currently, Tennessee has only one commitment in its 2025 recruiting class — center DeWayne Brown. However, national recruiting insider Eric Bossi mentioned on The 247Sports College Basketball Show that Burries is becoming a top target for Tennessee.
"I think he's pretty committed to staying in 2025 at this point, barring a surprise."
The recruitment process for Burries has been intriguing. A year ago, Duke and Arizona were frontrunners, but their involvement appears to be waning. Kansas remains a contender, but UCLA and Houston have recently become major players in Burries' recruitment.
"The two that I would watch as of today — I'm gonna give you two to watch and then a sleeper — would be UCLA, a local school, and then Houston. Houston has really gotten in there deep... Now, recently, Tennessee has jumped in... They've got some family ties with Burries," Bossi added.
Although Burries, who will turn 19 at the end of September, remains a highly sought-after prospect, even making it onto Duke's 2025 wishlist.
