Darryn Peterson took The Grind Session by storm. He took his game one step up against Ft. Erie International, grabbing 38 points, six rebounds, four assists and seven steals on Saturday.

Peterson, a 6-foot-5 guard, stamped his authority, brushing past players like nothing, scoring one basket after another in a highlight clip from the game shared by SLAM HS.

Peterson helped Prolific Prep (from Napa, California) defeat Ft. Erie International 76-69 after demolishing its two previous opponents with 112-74 and 113-76 scores. In his debut for the school, he had 29 points, nine assists, six steals and three blocks.

NBA star CJ McCollum heaped praises on Darryn Peterson following his debut. The basketball star seems destined for success. Some fans have demanded AJ Dybantas- and Cooper Flagg-level hype for the youngster.

Peterson cited Bill Self's coaching and Kansas' culture as the major reasons behind his choice.

Derek Johnson of the Locked on Jayhawks podcast believes the five-star shooting guard's versatility can do wonders for the Jayhawks:

"He's more of, he could be a wing or he could play the one, two or three. ... He feels like a player, to me, built to come in right away and have success, score double-digit points, be an impact player on a winning team in a real way because of how advanced he is at spot-up shooting, working in the high post, in the midrange, dribbling into, shooting and elevating over guys," Johnson said (Timestamp: 5:58).

However, Johnson said that Darryn Peterson might not be the top pick at the NBA draft with AJ Dybantsa and Cameron Boozer in the same class. But one thing is for sure, Peterson should take the college basketball scene and the NBA by storm.
