WATCH: When USC commit Julian Lewis called Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders "old" on his podcast
Julian Lewis, a five-star quarterback from Carrollton, Georgia, is just 16 years old and will enter college next year at 17. Lewis has already announced his commitment to the USC Trojans.
The Carrollton High School quarterback appeared on Shedeur Sanders' podcast in early September and surprised the host with his age. Sanders revealed that he was 19 years old when he first entered college at Jackson State, and Lewis had a hilarious reaction to that.
"I think I was 19 going into my freshman year," Sanders said, on his "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders" podcast. "I'm 22 right now."
Lewis chimed in and said, "You're old bruh."
"I'm old, bruh. I got a lot of skin in the game at this point," Sanders replied.
Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes' starting quarterback, played at Trinity Christian High School in Cedar Hill, Texas.
The Buffs were interested in acquiring Lewis, but the 16-year-old chose to join the Trojans next year.
Lewis is ranked No. 32 nationally and is the sixth-best player at his position in the Class of 2025, according to On3. He is also the sixth-best prospect from the state of Georgia.
Julian Lewis chose USC over top programs such as Georgia, Alabama and Colorado
Five-star USC commit Julian Lewis is one of the most highly sought-after players in the 2025 class. He received offers from top schools such as Auburn, Colorado, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Florida, Ohio State, LSU and, of course, USC.
However, he committed to the Trojans on Aug. 22, 2023. He became USC's first commitment for 2025. Trojans coach Lincoln Riley has successfully landed 22 commitments from the class and is poised to add more to that tally.
USC's 2025 class is ranked seventh in the country behind five-star prospects such as Lewis and Utah wide receiver Jerome Myles. Other notable players who have pledged to USC are California defensive lineman Hayden Lowe, California linebacker Matai Tagoa'i and Florida linebacker Ty Jackson.
Julian Lewis has led his high school team to an 8-0 record this season. He has racked up 1,843 yards, 28 touchdowns and just four interceptions while completing 77.1% of his pass attempts and registering a quarterback rating of 140.3.
