"We definitely got a problem": Top-ranked Houston commit Isiah Harwell hypes up Cougars' latest 5-star recruit

Five-star guard and Houston commit Isiah Harwell on Tuesday reacted to the news that five-star center Chris Cenac has also committed to the Cougars' 2025 class.

Cenac, who attended Link Academy in Branson, Missouri, and is ranked as the No. 1 center prospect in the Class of 2025, pledged to the University of Houston on Tuesday. The 6-foot-10 center announced this in the presence of his family and friends in an Instagram live video.

Following the news, Harwell, who committed to Houston in September, could not hide his excitement on social media. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard posted on his Instagram stories after it was confirmed that Cenac has committed to Houston.

"Ooooo Baby Houston We Definitely Got A Problem," Harwell wrote.

Speaking about why he chose Houston from all his options, Cenac said the opportunity to develop his game under the program's coaches played a major role.

"I just like the coaching staff a lot, I like their plan to develop me and I like coming into a winning program," Cenac told 247Sports. "I'm looking forward to producing and just helping them win more. But the main thing was development and them being able to get me better so I can be ready for that next level."

Chris Cenac and Isiah Harwell headline Houston Cougars’ 2025 class

Chris Cenac is the highest-ranked recruit to commit to Houston, joining Isiah Harwell and Kingston Flemmings, who are also five-star prospects. Cenac's decision to commit to Houston will boost the Cougars’ prospects for the 2025-2026 season.

Before Cenac, Isiah Harwell was the highest-ranked recruit in Houston's history.

In his sophomore year at Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah, Harwell averaged 13.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game at the Holiday Hoopsgiving in Atlanta. Harwell chose Houston over California, Gonzaga and Texas and will compete as a freshman in the 2025-2026 season.

The Pocatello, Idaho, native is gradually building a reputation for himself, ranked the 10th best prospect in the On3 Class of 2025 rankings, three spots behind Cenac, who is ranked in seventh place.

Harwell was part of the USA team that won gold at the 2023 FIBA U-16 championships and was an All-State First-Team selection as a freshman at Century High School in his hometown of Pocatello, averaging 18.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

The five-star guard signed an NIL deal with Klutch Athletics by New Balance. Although the deal's details are unknown, Harwell currently has an On3 NIL valuation of $1 million.
