"We will be dangerous together": 4-star WR Tyreek King commits to Josh Heupel's program; eager to play with QB commit Faizon Brandon
Tyreek King, a four-star wide receiver from Knoxville Catholic High School (Tennessee), announced his commitment to Josh Heupel's Tennessee Volunteers on Thursday. He chose the Vols over top programs such as Louisville, Kentucky, Auburn and Michigan, among others.
King spoke about his decision and talked about teaming up with Tennessee's quarterback commit, Faizon Brandon.
"No other place I visited felt like Tennessee," King said, per On3. "Since the 8th grade, I thought about getting an offer from Tennessee, and in March of 2023, I got it and there was no feeling like it. Since I got the offer, I have visited Tennessee over 10 times and it felt like home. It was a different feeling from everywhere else.
"I love the quarterbacks, too. Faizon Brandon will be there, and we will be dangerous together and do some real damage. The location was nice, too. I can walk to the campus from my house."
Tyreek King is ranked No.119 in the country and is the No. 18 WR in the Class of 2025, per On3. He is also the No. 3 overall recruit from the state of Tennessee. King has recorded 873 yards and 12 touchdowns on 39 receptions this season.
Tyreek King had high praise for the Volunteers' coaching staff
Tyreek King received more than 20 offers from some of the best CFB programs in the country, but his heart was set on Tennessee.
King's decision was based on the program's proximity to his home, wanting to play with Faizon Brandon and his trust in the coaching staff, including Tennessee WR coach Kelsey Pope.
"The coaches are a big reason I committed to Tennessee. It is a great staff that I trust," King said, per On3. "Coach (Kelsey) Pope develops receivers and coach (Josh) Heupel cares about his players. The coaches will develop me and get me on the field early."
Tennessee's Class of 2025 is ranked No. 8 in the country, per 247Sports. The Volunteers have 24 committed players so far, 12 of whom are four-star or better.
