Where will Kiyan Anthony land up? Carmelo Anthony's son closes down on his top 3 schools
Long Island Lutheran shooting guard Kiyan Anthony, son of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, is ranked 36th in the 2025 ESPN 100. With an 87 scout grade, Anthony is a four-star recruit according to ESPN, On3, Rivals and 247Sports.
The Overtime Elite player received plenty of interest from colleges across the nation, including Indiana, Providence, USC, Florida State, Maryland, Ohio State, Pittsburgh and many more. However, per On3 and 247Sports, the 6-foot-5 prospect has narrowed it down to three schools, which include USC, Auburn and Syracuse.
As it stands, the Orange, Carmelo's alma mater, lead the race to recruit Kiyan.
Playing in the EYBL, Kiyan Anthony averaged 19.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. In a matchup on May 18, he was up against Pro Skills Elite and scored 28 points while shooting 50% shooting from beyond that arc. He also recorded 25 points on 54% shooting from the field and 57% from the 3-point line against the PSA Cardinals.
While talking to 247Sports, Kiyan Anthony said he will be looking to make his final decision in the first week of November with pending visits to Auburn.
"I'm trying to commit the first week of November," he said. "At this point, I'm just looking for my finalists to apply the ultimate pressure. Each of these schools text me, but I want them to let me know where I can fit in within the school, who else is coming at my position, and what they see for me.
"I'm trying to get a visit to Auburn after the USA which is October 15. Hopefully we can do it. If not, I already talked with the players and the coaches."
What did Kiyan Anthony say about his Top 3 landing spots?
The Syracuse Orange is the leading program in his top three list, and Kiyan Anthony is scheduled to visit them on Oct. 19. The college has the highest chance of recruiting Anthony at 84.2%, according to On3. The Middle Village, New York, native has said he wanted to be a part of what the coaches are building there.
"The coaches were on me the earliest, and they've been recruiting me since day one," Kiyan said. "They really believe in me. My guy Sadiq (White) is already going there, and they're trying to get a few more players for 2025. I feel like they're really building something there, and if I were to go there, I could be a part of that."
Kiyan Anthony visited the USC Trojans on Sept. 26. According to On3's prediction machine, USC has a 5.9% chance of recruiting Anthony. Distance-wise, this is the program that is farthest from his home, but while talking to 247Sports, this is what he said:
"The visit was great, and they really laid out my film, stats, and everything I did this summer. You can tell they really planned for me to come on the visit, and it wasn't something that was last minute. Coach Eric) Musselman gets players drafted and in the lottery. They also produce players of my archetype and get them to the league."
The third and final name on his list was Auburn. He has yet to visit the school, and a date has not been finalized for his official visit. However, the shooting guard is a big fan of Tigers coach Bruce Pearl.
"Bruce Pearl has gotten a bunch of players at my position to the league and has a track record of winning and making the NCAA Tournament," Anthony said. "A few of my guys go there, like Jakai (Howard) and Tahaad (Pettiford), and they talk highly of the program. Auburn showed a lot of love since after Peach Jam, and we've been in contact ever since."
We are one month away from Anthony's decision. Which college do you think we will see Kiyan Anthony in next season?
