"You don't want Texas son": Football fans drop predictions for 2025 class CB Aidan Anding's potential landing spots

Football fans await the commitment of Aidan Anding, a promising cornerback from the 2025 recruiting class. Set to reveal his decision on August 24, 2024, Anding, a three-star recruit out of Ruston, Louisiana, has attracted significant interest from top college programs, including LSU, Arkansas, and Texas.

Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 160 pounds, Anding has made quite the impression, ranking as the No. 401 overall prospect and No. 37 cornerback in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

As the No. 13 recruit from Louisiana, his decision is highly anticipated, especially with LSU currently leading the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 63.5% chance of securing his commitment. Texas follows closely, with a 32.3% chance.

As the countdown to Anding’s announcement continues, fans are buzzing with predictions. One fan voiced,

“You don’t want Texas, son,”
“LSU about to own Texas again,” while another claimed.
"Texas gonna get there revenge back from earlier today‼️" another added.

Here is how other fans are expressing their reactions:

"Texas . after Kade Phillips decommit," a fan remarked
"He’s going to Texas," another fan said

Over the summer, Aidan Anding took official visits to several schools, including Miami, TCU, Arkansas, and Texas, carefully considering his options. Despite not being a lifelong LSU fan—having originally been more focused on basketball—Anding acknowledged the strong appeal of the Tigers after learning more about their program.

“Really, it’s the in-state school, but me, I wasn’t much of a football player (growing up),” Anding told On3. "Hearing (about LSU) and seeing stuff about it, it’s a good program, for one, and it’s the in-state school with a lot of fans and love shown to that program.”

Texas, however, also left a lasting impression on Anding. He spoke highly of the welcoming environment during his visit.

"I liked how coach (Terry) Joseph really cares about Louisiana guys. Some of the corners I met are from Louisiana. How they feel coming from here, going to a new environment at Texas, playing for a big-time program, that’s major. Easier for me to relate to them,” he said.

Ruston’s Aidan Anding eyes LSU as decision day approaches

As his commitment decision looms on August 24, LSU emerges as the frontrunner, according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. Out of four crystal ball predictions on 247Sports, three favor LSU, while one points to Texas.

LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is currently ranked third nationally, behind only Ohio State and Alabama, with 24 commitments already secured. The Tigers are looking to bolster their defensive lineup further with Anding’s potential addition.

Meanwhile, Texas, led by cornerback coach Terry Joseph, is also vying for Aidan Anding's commitment. However, the Longhorns recently faced a setback when LSU flipped four-star defensive back Kade Phillips on August 18.

Texas still holds a commitment from three-star cornerback Caleb Chester out of Missouri City’s Fort Bend Marshall for the 2025 class, but Anding could be a key addition if they manage to sway him.
