Photo: LeBron James' son Bryce James reshares post with Sierra Canyon teammates
Bryce James looked all set for the new season in an Instagram story post on Tuesday. His Sierra Canyon teammate and namesake Bryce Cofield initially made the post which contains a photo of them together with a third teammate, Jaden Nickens. Cofield plays shooting guard and has a three-star rating from On3.
As James enters his final season of high school hoops, a lot of attention will be directed toward him. There have been talks about him joining LeBron and Bronny James in the NBA before his father calls it a day on his illustrious career. However, the most important task before the top 100 shooting guard is getting through his senior high school season and making his college choice.
Nickens, on the other hand, is a four-star wide receiver who also plays basketball. Nickens de-committed from Oklahoma in March and has been heavily linked with USC and Kentucky as he nears his final decision on college commitment.
Bryce James started his high school basketball career at Sierra Canyon but moved around a couple of times before returning to the program last year. He transferred to Campbell Hall School in Los Angeles, where he only stayed a few months before transferring again. He transferred to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, from where he made a U-turn back to Sierra Canyon.
Will Bryce James play in the NBA with LeBron James and Bronny James?
Bryce James is a couple of steps away from NBA eligibility while LeBron, after 21 years in the league, does not have much time left. However, many believe Bryce has enough time to get to the league and play with his dad and brother. One of them is Tristan Thompson, a former teammate of LeBron’s.
Thompson won the NBA title in 2016 with LeBron as part of the Cleveland Cavaliers. They also played together for the LA Lakers.
Thompson believes his former teammate has a lot more time on his side:
“Look at how Bron is playing. He could probably play another four or five more years. He might as well keep playing so he can play with Bryce. He's going to end up doing it. He is. That's what's going to happen. All three of them are going to be on the same team.”
LeBron's team, the Lakers, selected his first son, Bronny, with the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA draft.
