4-star safety commit Jacob Bradford rumored to flip commitment to LSU Tigers
Four-star Houston safety commit Jacob Bradford is an all-around defensive back who can play corner as well as fit into many defensive schemes. He's a multisport athlete who also participates in track and basketball.
Bradford's gotten attention from numerous college football programs, and although he is committed, LSU seems to be in the running for the prospect, according to On3. Bradford holds offers from schools like Houston, LSU and Arizona State, among others.
Jacob Bradford received an offer from LSU on July 29, and he announced it via his X account.
Bradford has been committed to Houston since June 2023, but rumors that he might flip to LSU have been circulating. Defensive backs coach Corey Raymond is known as an excellent recruiter with an eye for talent. Per reports, the Tigers are working hard to get a commitment from Bradford.
Although Jacob Bradford was labeled as a hard commit to Houston, things seem to be changing. According to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine, LSU holds a 99.7% chance to flip Bradford from the Cougars.
Jacob Bradford visits LSU
Jacob Bradford had visited LSU before, but he came for another visit on Oct. 3 during the team's open week, and the Tigers are consistent with their recruiting pursuit.
They've also been recruiting Jacob's younger brother, Blaine Bradford. Blaine is a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Louisiana and the fourth-best safety in the country in the class of 2026. Blaine has also visited the Tigers.
Stacey Bradford, Jacob and Blaine's father, talked about the family's connection to Baton Rouge.
“LSU stands high with the Bradfords,” he said. “Blaine and Jacob are Baton Rouge kids and will always love LSU no matter what decision is made. These two young men have done a great job with the recruiting process. I am so happy with how they are juggling life, school and football. We would be satisfied with any choice they make. It is on them at this point.”
LSU's 2025 recruiting class has 26 commits, three of whom are five-star prospects. It is ranked as the No. 4 overall recruiting class by 247Sports, while the Tigers' 2026 class has four commits and is ranked sixth overall.
LSU is currently 4-1 on the season and third in the SEC behind Texas and Texas A&M. The Tigers recently defeated South Alabama 42-10 and will face the No. 9-ranked Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday. It should be a game many top recruits will take note of.
