Syracuse football recruiting class of 2025: Top 3 recruits Fran Brown bought this offseason
The Syracuse Orange have landed 28 commits from the class of 2025. However, none of those players is rated higher than three stars. Fran Brown hopes to improve on that and land some top-rated prospects going forward.
They have 27 verbal commits, the second most in the country, after only Rutgers. The Orange can add more players, but that would mean more players will leave at the end of 2024. They will have to be wary of that.
Let's take a look at the program's top three recruits at the moment.
Syracuse's top 3 recruits so far
#3. Terrell Wilfong
New Jersey's three-star wide receiver Terrell Wilfong committed to the Orange April. The 6-foot-4 wideout chose the New York-based school over programs such as Penn State, Boston and Maryland.
Wilfong expressed his feelings after committing to Syracuse.
"Words can’t explain how blessed I am to be in this position to become a part of the historical Syracuse University, I am beyond grateful and blessed," the receiver wrote, as per On3.
Wilfong is the 681st-best prospect in the country and is ranked No. 99 as a wide receiver, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the 19th-best overall prospect from the state of New Jersey.
#2. Darien Williams
Darien Williams, from the Christian Brothers Academy, committed to Syracuse in March. He chose his hometown school over top programs such as Penn State, Boston College and Pittsburgh.
Williams shared his feelings about signing for the Orange on X.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank every program that offered and took an interest in me. After much prayer, conversations with my family, my pastor, and my coaches I have decided to commit my academic and athletic collegiate career to Syracuse University," Williams wrote.
The 5-foot-10 wideout is ranked no.426 nationally and is the 71st best wide receiver in the country, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the second-best player from New York.
#1. Jaylen Pray
Jaylen Pray committed to Syracuse in March. The 6-foot-7 offensive tackle chose the Orange over Boston College, Connecticut, Notre Dame and several others.
He spoke about his decision and shed light on the reasons behind his commitment.
"The recruiting staff made me feel like an important part of their program," Pray said (h/t On3). "After touring the campus I fell in love with it. After watching practice I knew this was the place for me to be successful and achieve my goals of making it to the next level under the guide of coach Fran and the rest of the staff."
The athlete from Greenwich, Connecticut, is ranked No. 923 nationally and is the 58th-best player at his position, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the 9th best player from his home state.
