Texas A&M football recruiting class of 2025: Top 3 recruits Mike Elko bought this offseason
The Texas A&M Aggies have had a stellar recruiting season so far, propelling them into the top 10 schools ranking for the class of 2025. The Aggies head coach, Mike Elko, has secured 18 commitments and will look to add to that list.
The Aggies have acquired ten four-star recruits so far. They are the 7th best program in the country, according to 247Sports Composite.
Let's take a look at the top 3 recruits acquired by the Texas-based school.
Texas A&M's top 3 recruits so far
#3. Kiotti Armstrong
Texas native and four-star recruit Kiotti Armstrong announced his commitment to Texas A&M last month. The 6-foot-6 tight end was targeted by multiple top schools such as Texas, Baylor and Auburn, but the four-star recruit eventually decided to commit to the Aggies.
He spoke about the program in an interview with On3.
"I like the people there… They are telling me that I am versatile and will be able to play in that system," Armstrong said.
He also talked about the team's head coach, Mike Elko, and his coaching staff.
"I like coach Mike Elko and the new staff," Armstrong said. "I like how they told me they think I can keep developing and I can do anything on the field. They think I can line up out wing, in the wing, a two-point stance, all of it."
Armstrong is ranked No. 112 nationally and is the 4th best player at his position from his class, according to On3. He is also the 19th-best overall prospect from the state of Texas.
#2. Adonyss Currie
Adonyss Currie, the four-star recruit from California, had offers from schools such as Utah, Washington and Miami.
On3's director of scouting, Charles Power, spoke about Currie's qualities and shed light on what Texas A&M will get from the talented cornerback.
"I think for starters he has an outstanding combination of stature and speed," Power said. "His top-end speed stacks up with anybody in the cycle at corner. He’s proven to be fluid and coordinated in coverage situations. He’s looked good in the neutral settings against top receivers and backs that up on Friday nights."
Currie is ranked as the country's 7th-best cornerback and the 65th-best overall prospect, according to On3 Industry Rankings. As a junior in high school, the 6-foot-2 corner recorded 35 tackles, four interceptions and six pass breakups.
#1. Husan Longstreet
Texas A&M bagged a quarterback in four-star recruit Husan Longstreet in April. The 6-foot-1 QB from Centennial High School chose the Aggies over other prestigious programs such as Auburn, Oregon and Ole Miss.
Husan's father, Kevin Longstreet, spoke about his son's decision and the process of committing to Texas A&M.
"The relationship he built with Coach Klein and Coach Elko was unbelievable," Longstreet said, as per On3. "He said they love ball and are passionate about football and that drove him to A&M. It was also a larger city and larger town and he felt that was more him."
Longstreet is ranked No. 35 nationally according to On3 and is the 6th best quarterback from his class. He is also the 2nd-best overall prospect from California.
