Throwback video of Brooklyn Nets' SG Amari Bailey showcases his elite dunking skills as a Sierra Canyon high school player

Shooting guard Amari Bailey has plenty to prove with his new team, the Brooklyn Nets. He will be bringing his explosive dunking ability to Brooklyn and his talent for rattling the rim has been evident since he was in high school, playing for powerhouse Sierra Canyon.

Before his stint at UCLA, Bailey played for the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. LeBron James' sons, Bronny and Bryce, also attended the school. As a Trailblazer, Bailey often put his defenders on posters, as the Ballislife Instagram page showed last week.

During his high school days at Sierra Canyon, Amari Bailey became a five-star recruit. As a senior, he averaged 18.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. In his high school class, he was ranked by ESPN as the No. 2 shooting guard nationally.

After one season at UCLA, Bailey was selected in the second round of the 2023 NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets. He made his NBA debut against the New York Knicks in November. Bailey spent time in the G League as well, playing for the Greensboro Swarm.

Amari Bailey grateful for chance to join the Brooklyn Nets

Amari Bailey signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Brooklyn Nets on September 21. He spoke about his expectations for training camp.

"To just come in and be myself, knowing that this is just a clean start, and I'll take every step forward, Bailey said"

He added that he is appreciative of the Nets staff for allowing him to play for them. The former Hornet is on an Exhibit 10 contract, along with Killian Hayes and Tyrese Martin. His one-year, minimum-salary contract could be converted into a two-way deal before the season starts.

The Nets will begin their preseason campaign in LA on Tuesday at the LA Clippers.
