Top 3 landing spots for 2025 class prospect Shamar Arnoux if he decommits from USC ft. Georgia
Shamar Arnoux, the three-star recruit from Carrollton, Georgia, announced his commitment to the USC Trojans in June. He became the Trojans' second commitment of the month and made the decision immediately after receiving an offer during his visit to Auburn.
Despite Arnoux's commitment to USC, On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has only given the Trojans a 39.6% chance of acquiring the cornerback.
The cornerback chose the Trojans over other top schools such as Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee and Wake Forest. He spoke about the program and his prior relationship with the cornerbacks coach, Doug Belk.
"Coach Belk and I have a really good relationship," the three-star recruit said, as per 247Sports. "He offered me when he was at Houston when I was a sophomore. Coach Belk says he really wants me to play here, and that he'll show me where he wants me to fit in the program. I spoke with Lincoln Riley too. ... He wants me to come to USC really badly."
Arnoux is ranked No. 498 nationally and is the 43rd-best cornerback in the country, per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the 55th-best overall prospect from the state of Georgia. Let's look at three teams that can land Arnoux if he de-commit from the Trojans.
Top 3 landing spots for 2025 prospect Shamar Arnoux
#3. Georgia
The Georgia Bulldogs are one of the contenders to flip Arnoux. Georgia extended an offer to the 6-foot-1 cornerback, but he chose the Trojans over his home state school. Georgia has a 2.4% chance of landing the three-star recruit if he de-commits from USC, as per On3.
The Bulldogs' class of 2025 is ranked 4th in the country, as per 247Sports. They have already acquired 22 commitments so far and are poised to rope in more high school athletes from the class of 2025.
#2. Texas A&M
Texas A&M Aggies was in Shamar Arnoux's top 8 prior to his commitment to USC. The Aggies were a part of the group that included programs such as Arkansas, Auburn, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida State, Ole Miss and LSU.
Although the Aggies ended up on the wrong side of Arnoux's decision, they still have a chance of landing the three-star cornerback if he decides to change his commitment. The Mike Elko-led team's class of 2025 is ranked 6th in the country, as per 247Sports, as they have landed 20 hard commitments so far.
#1. Tennessee
Arnoux was previously committed to the Tennessee Volunteers. Josh Heupel and his coaching staff played a huge role in the Vols landing Arnoux.
However, that didn't last long, as the defenseman parted ways with Tennessee in February and chose USC. Despite the 6-foot-1 cornerback's commitment, the Vols still have a good chance of flipping the three-star recruit.
His previously formed bond with the coaching staff can play a role in Arnoux's decision to go back to the Volunteers. Tennessee's class of 2025 is ranked 7th, with 21 hard commits.
