Top 3 landing spots for 4-star QB Deuce Knight if he decommits from Auburn ft. Ole Miss

Deuce Knight, the four-star quarterback from the class of 2025, has already announced his commitment to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. However, recent rumors are going around about him flipping his decision and committing to the Auburn Tigers instead.

The Tigers are establishing themselves as the masters of "flipping" as they have already flipped a couple of talented recruits in defenseman Antonio Coleman and wide receiver Derick Smith.

Auburn coach Hugh Freeze has always held Knight in high regard, according to Auburn Live's Jeffery Lee and the Tigers' coaching staff has done everything in their power to recruit the star athlete.

Although the Tigers have a decent chance of flipping Knight's commitment, here's a closer look at three schools other than Auburn that are still in contention to acquire the four-star quarterback from Mississippi.

3 landing spots for 4-star quarterback Deuce Knight other than Auburn

#3. Alabama

The Alabama Crimson Tide extended an offer to Deuce Knight back in June 2023. It became the 22nd college football program to do so. Although the Crimson Tide did not land the coveted recruit, they are still in the race if Knight decides to flip his commitment.

Head coach Kalen DeBoer and Co. have shown plenty of interest in the four-star prospect:

"Since they got to Alabama, they have been coming after me hard. Coach DeBoer stopped by my school right away. I was the first stop he made when he got on the road," Knight told On3 back in February this year. "I know they want me."

Alabama currently has a less than 1% chance of landing the quarterback, as per On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, but they can still hope to land him in the future.

#2. Tennessee

The Tennessee Volunteers have also been in the race to acquire Deuce Knight's services for a long time. Knight was in Tennessee for a couple of visits last year, one in March and another in June.

Knight previously spoke about his visit to the college's campus and about the team's coaching staff (via Vols Wire):

"Some people talk a big game and say they can develop guys, but coach [Joey] Halzle and coach [Josh] Heupel really showed me what they do and how it paid off for them," Knight said in May last year.

Knight is ranked No. 38 nationally and is the seventh-best quarterback in the country, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the third-best overall prospect from the state of Mississippi.

#1. Ole Miss

The Ole Miss Rebels currently have the third-best odds of landing the Lucedale, Mississippi native as per On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

247Sports analyst Tom Loy spoke about Ole Miss' efforts to land the 6-foot-4 quarterback back in June this year (via Sports Illustrated):

"There is absolutely smoke to Ole Miss and Deuce Knight; there is no question about it," Loy said. "He is an elite talent from Mississippi, essentially in the backyard [of] the Rebels, and they have a vacancy at quarterback in 2025, and he is the guy. It is all about Deuce Knight for Ole Miss."

Ole Miss' class of 2025 is currently ranked No. 16, as per On3. Acquiring Knight would certainly boost their rankings and likely help them breach the top 10 mark.
