Top 3 landing spots for 5-star guard Jasper Johnson to class of 2025 ft. Kentucky
Jasper Johnson, the five-star shooting guard from Overtime Elite High School is one of the most heavily recruited players in the country. The 6-foot-4 guard is currently sitting on more than 25 offers from some of the best D-1 schools in the country.
However, the shooting guard from Lexington, Kentucky has narrowed his list down to five schools. He will choose between Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisville, and North Carolina on Sept. 5, as per On3's Joe Tipton. There is a belief that Johnson will eventually select between his hometown of Kentucky, Alabama and UNC.

#3. North Carolina
The North Carolina Tar Heels are one of the contenders to land the coveted shooting guard. The Tar Heels extended an offer to the five-star prospect on Sept. 18 last year and he has since taken multiple visits to North Carolina.
Johnson spoke about the program's head coach, Hubert Davis, and his pitch to land him in NC (via On3):
"Coach [Hubert] Davis tells me if he could get me now as a reclass, or stay [in 2025], he wants me whenever," Johnson said. "He definitely says he wants me to play for him next year or whenever I want to. So him giving me that message and then coach [Sean] May is texting me and my parents... Just building that relationship and that bond."
North Carolina is yet to land a commitment from the class of 2025. However, they have extended offers to 18 elite high school athletes from the country so far.
#2. Alabama
Alabama will look to follow up on its terrific class of 2024 by adding some of the best talent from the class of 2025 this year. Nate Oats' class of 2024 ranked No. 3 overall in the country last year, as per 247Sports.
One player they are in the hunt for is the Overtime Elite shooting guard, Jasper Johnson. The five-star recruit has taken multiple visits to Tuscaloosa and has named the Crimson Tide in his top five.
"They produce every year. They produce great guards and their guard play is really good and they just had a Final Four run," Jasper Johnson said via On3. "A couple of my teammates from last year [Derrion Reid, Labaron Philon] are there now as freshmen and they’re going to have a good year so I’m going to be watching them for sure."
Alabama has a 2.9% chance of landing Johnson, as per On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Crimson Tide has the second-best odds of acquiring him as per the prediction model.
#1. Kentucky
The Kentucky Wildcats are the favorites to land the five-star prospect, Jasper Johnson, as per On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. According to the model, the Wildcats have an 84.9% chance of acquiring the talented shooting guard.
Johnson received an offer from Kentucky on May 5 last year. Since then, the Lexington native has visited the Wildcats' campus multiple times, including an official visit on February 9 this year. The five-star guard talked about the Wildcats' program (via On3):
"I like them [the staff]. I got to meet them last month I’m pretty sure," the 6-foot-4 guard said. "Got to meet them and talk to them for a few minutes. Got to watch them practice and heard [Pope’s] message. Just got to see them play so just building that relationship."
Kentucky has landed one commitment so far from the class of 2025, the four-star center, Malachi Moreno. The Wildcats have extended offers to 18 other high school athletes from the class of 2025.
