Top 3 landing spots for 5-star QB commit Husan Longstreet to the class of 2025 ft. Texas A&M

Maliha

Five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet, from Centennial High School in Corona, California, announced his commitment to Texas A&M back in April—choosing the Aggies over Ole Miss, Auburn, Louisville and Oregon.

According to 247Sports' Greg Biggins, the prospect has the caliber to generate a ton of velocity with little effort. Last season, Longstreet recorded 3,013 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions while also rushing for 645 yards and seven touchdowns.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect is ranked by 247Sports as No. 28 in the 2025 class, No. 4 among quarterbacks and No. 1 in California. Meanwhile, he is ranked by On3 as the No. 30 prospect in his class, No. 5 among quarterbacks and No. 2 in California.

Though Longstreet is committed to the Aggies, several programs will be pursuing him before the national signing day on February 5, 2025. Let's see which three programs may earn an edge in the race.

Top 3 programs vying for Husan Longstreet's commitment

3. Auburn

According to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine, Auburn has a 1.1% chance of flipping Husan Longstreet’s commitment. The Tigers have been actively recruiting him and were considered a significant contender before he chose Texas A&M.

Auburn does not have a quarterback committed to their 2025 class, which features 22 committed players. They are currently ranked No. 6 in the nation and No. 4 in the SEC as per On3. Notable four-star prospects like Jared Smith, Derick Smith, Anquon Fegans and Eric Winters are part of this class.

If Longstreet were to switch his commitment, he would be Auburn’s first five-star pledge in the 2025 class.

2. USC

While the university was not included in Longstreet’s final four schools, he did make an unofficial visit to the program in April before committing to Texas A&M. His father, Kevin, talked about his son's continued interest in USC in an article that was released by On3 today.

“Husan likes the offense, Husan likes the leadership over at USC. He also likes the fact that it’s at home.”

The Trojans' have 16 prospects committed to the 2025 class, including five-star quarterback Julian Lewis. Their recruitment is ranked No. 17 in the nation.

1. Texas A&M

Texas A&M remains the frontrunner in securing Husan Longstreet’s commitment, boasting a 97.7% chance; and its coaching staff is the main reason behind this.

“Coach Elko is a really straightforward guy,” Longstreet told SI in June. “He’s not going to tell you any lies. He’ll tell you what it is and what it isn’t. And Coach Klein, the things he can do with that offense are crazy. It’s not every day you meet a person like (Elko or Klein).”

Even Longstreet's father, Kevin, reaffirmed his son's loyalty to the Aggies.

“He’s still committed to the Aggies,” Kevin said. “That’s what it is. Aggies never did nothing wrong. Things can change at any time but I don’t think they will. He’s happy where things are with Texas A&M right now.”

Texas A&M has 20 players committed to the 2025 class, which On3 currently ranks as No. 7 in the nation and No. 5 in the SEC. Longstreet is the only five-star prospect in the class.
