Top 3 landing spots for Class of 2025 five-star OT Michael Fasusi ft. Oklahoma

As the anticipation builds, Michael Fasusi, a standout offensive tackle from Lewisville, Texas, is gearing up to announce his college commitment on Aug. 21. At 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds, he ranks as the 27th overall prospect and the fifth-best offensive tackle, according to 247Sports.

The 247Sports Composite placed him as the 12th overall prospect, the third offensive tackle, and the fifth player in Texas for his class. With 37 offers on the table, Fasusi has narrowed his focus to five programs emerging as the top contenders: Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Florida. However, the real battle seems to be between these three schools.

Top 3 landing spots for five-star OT Michael Fasusi

#3. Texas A&M Aggies

Texas A&M has made a significant impression on Fasusi, particularly during his multiple visits to College Station. Coach Mike Elko and offensive line coach Adam Cushing have played crucial roles in making the Aggies a serious contender for Fasusi’s commitment.

Michael Fasusi's first official visit to College Station on June 6 set the tone, and the Aggies have remained a strong presence in his recruitment process ever since. With 18 commitments already in its 2025 class, Texas A&M is ranked within the top 10 nationally, with five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet being the highest-ranked commit.

#2. Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns have long been in the mix for Fasusi, especially given the potential vacancy at left tackle with Kelvin Banks possibly heading to the NFL. Texas has a strong recruiting presence and substantial NIL resources, making it a formidable contender in the race.

Michael Fasusi has always held Texas in high regard. Reflecting on his visits to Austin, Fasusi told On3:

"I loved the resources. There is a lot Texas football has to offer. A lot Austin has to offer in general too. We had a bunch of meetings. Bunch of presentations... I can see the vision with them. Also the education thing."

#1. Oklahoma Sooners

Oklahoma has made a compelling case for Fasusi, largely due to the relationship he has developed with offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh. Fasusi’s official visit to the Norman campus happened during the weekend of June 14.

Reflecting on his visit, Michael Fasusi expressed his admiration for the program and said:

"It went great, man, I loved every bit of it. . . It’s been the same since the last time I went. [Oklahoma has] great resources, a great family environment in general. And best of all, the development."

In another interview, he told On3:

"I would put OU very high on my list, there’s a reason they are in my top seven, of course. It’s always love when I go there. And this time, I felt more of that love."

The Sooners 2024 class finished at No. 9 nationally, and they are off to a strong start in 2025, with 22 commitments, 13 of which are four-star prospects. Currently ranked No. 15 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, Oklahoma is poised to continue its success.
