Five-star plus offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, from Georgetown Preparatory School in Maryland, is quickly becoming one of the most coveted offensive tackles in the country. He has already received offers from Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Florida, Texas A&M, Maryland, Auburn, Boston College, Alabama, Ole Miss and Georgia, among others.

The 6-foot-7, 320-pound prospect led his high school to an 8-2 record in 2023, earning him first-team all-league honors. He is rated by On3 as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation, the No. 3 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 1 recruit in Maryland. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 2 offensive tackle, the No. 5 overall player in the class and the No. 2 recruit in the state.

Let's see which three programs can earn the commitment of Iheanacho.

Top 3 programs vying for Immanuel Iheanacho's commitment

#3. Oregon

Oregon has emerged as a big contender for Immanuel Iheanacho’s commitment, especially following his participation in the program’s Saturday Night Live camp on July 27. This camp has become a big event for Oregon’s recruiting efforts, attracting top-tier talent from across the country.

Iheanacho was among a dozen five-star athletes from the 2025–2027 classes who attended, alongside nearly two dozen four-star prospects. He even shared an image of the trip with the caption "SCO" along with a duck emoji.

Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class is off to a strong start with four verbal commitments, including defensive lineman Tony Cumberland, who was the first to commit. The class also features four-star prospects Jonas Williams, Tradarian Ball and Kodi Greene.

#2. Ohio State

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Buckeyes currently hold a 10.2% chance of landing Immanuel Iheanacho. He received his offer from Ohio State in May and made his first visit to Columbus in June during the program’s fourth recruiting camp of the summer.

“The camp was great, I’m trying to get better," Iheanacho told Eleven Warriors. "I learned a little bit of technique that I didn’t really know coming in.”

Ohio State’s reputation for developing elite offensive linemen is well-known, and the program’s recent success in recruiting five-star talent speaks volumes. It has already secured a commitment from five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. for the 2026 class.

#1. Penn State

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Penn State leads the race to earn Immanuel Iheanacho's recruitment with a 26.0% chance. He unofficially visited Penn State on April 13.

The prospect has already bonded with several members of the coaching staff, including coach James Franklin.

"They are definitely one of my higher schools moving forward due to the coach's mindset on how he wants to advance the program, and how he wants his players to carry themselves after football ends," Iheanacho told 247Sports.

Penn State has six players committed to the 2026 class, ranking No. 3 in the nation. The class features interior offensive lineman Kevin Brown, wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers, running back Messiah Mickens, quarterback Troy Huhn, edge rusher Daniel Jennings and wide receiver Lavar Keys.
