Top 3 landing spots for four-star WR Naeem Burroughs to the Class of 2026 ft. Florida
Four-star wide receiver Naeem Burroughs is one of the most promising uncommitted juniors in the nation. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound playmaker from Jacksonville, Florida, announced Thursday evening that his recruitment is down to six programs: Clemson, Florida, Notre Dame, Texas, Florida State and Wisconsin.
Burroughs is the No. 60 overall player, the No. 9 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 7 player in Florida, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. In his junior season this year with The Bolles School, he caught 33 passes for 829 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Though Burroughs' recruitment is still early, let's see which three programs have an edge in his recruitment for now.
Top 3 programs vying for Naeem Burroughs' commitment
#3. Wisconsin
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Wisconsin has a 17.6% chance of securing Naeem Burroughs' commitment. The Badgers’ strongest advantage comes from family ties, as his older brother, Quincy Burroughs, has been a wide receiver on the school's roster for two seasons. The familiarity and comfort of having a sibling already in the program could make Madison an interesting choice.
Burroughs has already visited Wisconsin and is familiar with the program’s ongoing changes under coach Luke Fickell. The Badgers have been focusing on their revamped offensive approach, which could align well with Burroughs' skill set as a promising pass catcher.
Wisconsin’s 2026 class includes three-star quarterback Jarin Mock and three-star offensive lineman Benjamin Novak.
#2. Florida State
Florida State has a 20.5% chance of securing Burroughs' commitment, per RPM. He attended a junior day event in January and returned the following month for another visit.
“They’ve always shown love since my freshman year," Burroughs told On3. "They had a season that wasn’t the best, but I really want to see how coach (Mike) Norvell bounces back because I believe he can.”
Florida State landed four wide receivers in its 2025 signing class, and its target will be to enrich the 2026 class likewise. The 2026 class already has five players committed, including four-star wide receivers Efrem White and Darryon Williams.
The Seminoles 2026 class ranks No. 6 in the nation and looks promising with multiple prospects, like four-star cornerback Jamarrion Gordon, leaning toward it.
#1. Florida
Florida is the leader in Burroughs' recruitment with a 38.6% chance of securing his commitment. Gainesville has long been a second home for Burroughs, who has attended camps and visited the campus multiple times throughout his high school career.
A major factor in Florida’s favor is wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales, whose proven track record of developing talent bodes well with Burroughs.
Florida has three committed players in the 2026 class: four-star quarterback Will Griffin, four-star cornerback Jaelen Waters and three-star safety Devin Jackson. It ranks No. 15 in the nation and No. 7 in the Southeastern Conference.
The Gators' 2026 class is also in contention for multiple wide receivers, including four-star prospects Marquez Daniel, Jayden Petit, Somourian Wingo and Clifton Hester.
