Top 3 landing spots for four-star WR Somourian Wingo to the Class of 2026 ft. Florida
Four-star wide receiver Somourian Wingo is one of the most highly touted juniors in the nation. The standout from St. Augustine High School in Florida has revealed his top 10 schools this week, which featured UCF, Florida, Kansas, LSU, Miami, Louisville, Missouri, South Carolina, South Florida and Tennessee.
Wingo is the No. 207 prospect in the nation, the No. 33 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 34 recruit in Florida, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. Before narrowing his options, he has made it clear that a “great coaching staff” is crucial in his decision-making process.
Somourian Wingo's recruitment is far from over, and three programs currently stand out as strong contenders for his commitment.

#3. South Carolina
South Carolina has made a strong push for Wingo, with wide receivers coach Mike Furrey leading the charge. The Gamecocks have a 12.5% chance of landing his commitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Wingo visited South Carolina for its impressive 44-20 win over Texas A&M on Nov. 2, and the experience left a lasting impression.
“It was a great visit," Wingo told SI following the trip. "Their coaches showed me mad love. They treated me like a commit. It was a great game; one of the best ones I have been to. That was one of the best visits I have been on.”
South Carolina's 2026 recruiting class has yet to secure a wide receiver commitment. The Gamecocks’ class ranks No. 5 in the Southeastern Conference and No. 9 nationally with six committed players.
#2. Miami
Wingo's relationship with Miami wide receivers coach Kevin Beard is a special one, and the Hurricanes have a 14.6% chance of securing Wingo's commitment.
"The relationship is amazing," Wingo told SI. "I talk to coach Beard almost every day. I talk to three coaches there every day. They are showing me how much they want me; it is amazing. I have built relationships with coach Beard and their coaches."
Miami's 2026 class features three players: linebacker Jordan Campbell, quarterback Dereon Coleman and cornerback Camdin Portis. The class suffered a setback when cornerback Ksani Jiles decommitted in February, dropping Miami’s ranking to No. 15 nationally.
#1. Florida
The Florida Gators are the clear frontrunners in Wingo’s recruitment, with the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine giving them a commanding 62.4% chance of securing his commitment. As a Florida native, he feels a natural connection to the program, and wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales has played a big role in maintaining that bond.
"Florida is a great place; I love to go there," Wingo told SI. "Florida is close to where I am; it’s not that far of a drive. They also treat me like a commit. They call and text me every day to show me how much they want me to be a part of their program. It is a packed crowd at every game."
Florida’s 2026 recruiting class ranks No. 14 in the nation and No. 7 in the SEC. It features three in-state commits.
