Top 3 landing spots for Havon Finney Jr. from class of 2027 ft. Oregon

Three-star cornerback from Sierra Canyon High School Havon Finney Jr. is one of the best overall prospects from the class of 2027. The 6-foot-2 cornerback is a key target for multiple top programs in the country and is currently sitting on offers from no less than 15 D-1 schools.

The talented defenseman has received offers from schools such as LSU, Oregon, USC, Nevada, Washington, Arizona, BYU, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Finney made headlines in 2017 when he received an offer from the University of Nevada as a nine-year-old prospect.

The California native is ranked No.17 nationally and is the second-best cornerback from the class of 2027, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the fifth-best overall prospect from the state of California.

Here's a closer look at the top three teams that have the best chance of landing the 16-year-old recruit from Los Angeles.

Top 3 landing spots for Havon Finney Jr.

#3. USC

Lincoln Riley's USC Trojans are one of the favorites to land the cornerback. The 16-year-old visited the Trojans last summer and revealed that USC was the first team to extend an offer to him (via 247Sports):

"USC was the first school to offer me," Finney said back in August 2023. "I’ve always liked USC a lot growing up so that was a big offer for me. I camped with them back in June and they offered me after the camp. That definitely meant a lot to me and I was very excited to get that first one."

The Trojans currently have a 2.6% chance of landing the three-star recruit, as per Onr Recruiting Prediction Machine. Although USC is yet to land a commitment from the class of 2027, it has extended offers to 37 talented athletes from the same class.

#2. LSU

The LSU Tigers extended Finney an offer on April 13. They are heavily recruiting the talented defenseman and are one of the leading contenders to land him.

According to On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Tigers have the second-best odds of acquiring him with a 33.3% chance, as per the model.

LSU is yet to land a commitment from the class of 2027, but it has extended offers to 17 talented prospects from the class. Brian Kelly and company have extended offers to three cornerbacks from the class of 2027.

#1. Oregon

The Oregon Ducks are currently the favorites to land Havon Finney Jr., as per On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine. Oregon was one of the first teams to extend an offer to Finney and has been consistent in its pursuit of the defenseman.

The Ducks extended an offer back in August last year. He attended Oregon's camp in June 2023 and spoke about it after receiving an offer from the Ducks (via 247Sports):

"I talked to Coach Meat [Demetrice Martin] and Coach [Dan] Lanning after the camp," Finney Jr said, as per 247Sports. "That was another big offer because I’ve always liked Oregon a lot and had a great time at the camp and seeing the campus."

Oregon has extended offers to 62 high school athletes from the class of 2027. Notably, nine of those 62 offers are to defensive backs, including Havon Finney Jr.
