So, let's take a look at five top high school football players who have flipped their commitments so far.
5 football players in the class of 2025 who flipped their commitments
#5 Justus Terry
Justus Terry, the five-star defensive lineman from Manchester High School, is one of the best high school players in the country. The 6-foot-4.5 defenseman from Georgia had committed to the University of Georgia back in January 2023, but decided to flip his decision after an unofficial visit to USC.
However, the five-star football player later decided to de-commit from the Trojans also and is yet to announce his final decision. Georgia is back as the leader to acquire Terry, as per On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Terry is ranked no.7 nationally and is the second-best defensive lineman in the country from the class of 2025, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the second-best overall prospect from the state of Georgia.
#4 Blake Woodby
Another football player from the class of 2025 who decided to switch allegiance is the four-star cornerback from Baltimore, Blake Woodby. The 5-foot-10 athlete from St. Frances Academy flipped his commitment after a successful trip to Auburn during the Big Cat Weekend.
Woodby had announced his commitment to Ohio State back in October last year but de-committed from the Buckeyes in May this year. He announced his commitment to Auburn on Saturday during the program's biggest recruiting weekend.
Woodby is ranked no.138 nationally and is the 17th-best cornerback in the country, as per On3. He is also the third-best overall prospect from his home state of Maryland, according to the same rankings.
#3 Antonio Coleman
Antonio Coleman, the four-star recruit from Saraland, Alabama, is another football player from the class of 2025 who has committed to the Auburn Tigers. The Tigers have successfully managed to flip the 6-foot-2 defensive lineman twice from his home state school of Alabama.
Hugh Freeze and his staff managed to acquire Coleman during the Big Cat Weekend in July. The defenseman adds to an already growing list of elite athletes who have committed to Auburn.
Coleman is the 130th-best player in the nation and is the 12th-best defensive lineman in the country, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the 11th-best overall prospect from the state of Alabama.
#2 Shamari Earls
Shamari Earls, the 6-foot-2 cornerback from the class of 2025, was one of the most highly recruited football players from his class. He had committed to the University of South Carolina in April this year but de-committed from the Gamecocks earlier this month.
The four-star recruit is now headed to the University of Georgia to play for Kirby Smart.
Georgia is well placed in terms of commitments from elite high school athletes from the class of 2025. It has already secured 18 commitments and its class is ranked in the top-5 across the nation.
Earls is ranked no.65 in the nation and is the 6th-best cornerback in the country, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the second-best overall prospect from his home state of Virginia.
#1 Dakorien Moore
Five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore is one of the best high school prospects in the country. The 5-foot-11 receiver from Duncanville, Texas, had committed to LSU in August last year but decided to de-commit in May this year. He has now committed to the Oregon Ducks.
Moore chose the Ducks over other top schools such as Texas, Ohio State and Auburn. The receiver became the third five-star recruit on Oregon's roster from the class of 2025. He joined Tampa Bay Tech five-star WR Dallas Wilson and Conroe (Texas) five-star cornerback Dorian Brew.
Moore is ranked as the third-best overall prospect in the country and is the best player from his position in the nation, as per On3. He is also the best overall prospect from Texas.
