As the 2025 college football recruiting cycle nears its conclusion, many of the nation’s top high school prospects have already made their commitments. However, a select few five-star recruits remain uncommitted. These blue-chip athletes are the crown jewels of the recruiting class, and their choices can impact the programs they ultimately choose to join.

Let’s take a closer look at five highly-touted uncommitted prospects of the 2025 class.

Top 5 uncommitted five-star players in the 2025 class

#5. Michael Fasusi

Five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi will announce his commitment on Aug. 21. He will choose between the Texas Longhorns, the Texas A&M Aggies and the Oklahoma Sooners.

According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, Oklahoma currently has the edge, but Texas is also strongly in the mix. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives the Longhorns a 53.3% chance of landing his commitment.

Fasusi is ranked as the No. 32 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 7 offensive tackle in the 2025 class and the No. 8 recruit in Texas, according to On3. 247Sports places him as the No. 27 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 5 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 8 recruit in the state.

#4. Jonah Williams

Five-star safety Jonah Williams is set to announce his commitment on Monday, Aug. 26. He will be choosing among Oregon, USC, Texas, LSU and Texas A&M.

The Ducks are trending for Williams, with a 50.2% chance of earning his commitment. Rivals insider Landyn Rosow reported that even after the program landed fellow five-star safety Trey McNutt, the Ducks have remained aggressive to acquire Williams' commitment.

Williams is ranked as the No. 16 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 1 safety in the 2025 class and the No. 4 recruit in Texas, according to On3. 247Sports places him as the No. 7 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 1 safety in the class and the No. 3 recruit in the state.

#3. Justus Terry

Five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry has indicated that he may wait until December to make his commitment.

Terry was previously committed to USC but decommitted from the program later. Following his decommitment from the Trojans, he visited the Georgia Bulldogs last month, and the program is now trending with a 96.8% chance of earning his commitment.

Terry is ranked as the No. 10 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 2 defensive lineman in the 2025 class and the No. 2 recruit in Georgia, according to On3. 247Sports places him as the No. 13 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 2 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 3 recruit in the state.

#2. Elijah Griffin

Five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin announced his top three of Georgia, USC and Miami last month. He is considering making his commitment around his birthday in October, though he may wait until December.

The Bulldogs are trending for Griffin, with a 95.2% chance of earning his commitment. The program offered him when he was in eighth grade, and he built a strong relationship with coach Kirby Smart and the whole coaching staff over the years.

Griffin is ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2025 class and the No. 1 recruit in Georgia, according to On3. 247Sports places him as the No. 8 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 1 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 1 recruit in the state.

#1. David Sanders Jr.

Five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. will make his college commitment on Saturday afternoon. He will decide between Ohio State, Georgia, Nebraska and Tennessee.

The Volunteers are currently leading the race for Sanders, with an 82.0% chance of earning his commitment, according to On3. The school has had Sanders on campus more than any other program this year and hosted him for a final visit at the end of last month.

Sanders is ranked as the No. 6 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2025 class and the No. 1 recruit in North Carolina, according to On3. 247Sports places him as the No. 3 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 1 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 1 recruit in the state.
