The star power drawn by the World Series is not only limited to pop culture stateside. America's favorite pastime also has a global reach, particularly in the powerhouse K-pop industry.

On Thursday, MLB shared a photo of K-pop superstar DK (or Dokyeom) from the group SEVENTEEN on its socials. The global sensation attended the title-deciding Game 5 at Yankee Stadium to show his support for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

DK, or sometimes Dokyeom, has shared on the social media site Instagram throughout the years how he is a huge fan of baseball and even wanted to become a professional baseball player himself.

The 27-year-old star is one of the 13 members of the K-pop group SEVENTEEN and serves as one of its main vocalists. He is also a part of the group's vocal team and its sub-unit, BSS.

The group has amassed a plethora of awards in Korea and Japan. SEVENTEEN also has two MTV Video Music and Europe Music Awards, along with American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards nominations.

K-pop and MLB's storied collaboration

SEVENTEEN's DK is the latest K-pop star in a long line of musical artists who made their name in the genre and took time watching MLB games. After all, just like its neighbors' Japan and Taiwan, South Korea is a baseball nation as well.

In 2013, at the boom of Gangnam Style, South Korean rapper Psy visited Dodger Stadium to meet with former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu.

In the same season, Girls' Generation Tiffany Young was also present at Chavez Ravine and even threw out the first pitch.

Fast forward to this season and for the first time in its history, the league's season opener was held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, South Korea, between the Dodgers and the San Diego Padres as part of the MLB Seoul Series.

Over the two-day event, award-winning girl groups (G)I-dle and æspa performed during the pre-game festivities.
