What happened at Jungkook's house? Chinese woman arrested in suspicion of attempted break-in on BTS' idol's military discharge day

K-media MBN reported on June 12, 2025, that a woman from China was reportedly caught trying to enter BTS star Jungkook's apartment. Yongsan Authorities reported that the woman, who is believed to be in her 30s, was detained on June 11 at approximately 11:20 pm for allegedly trying to enter the apartment.

The suspect, who is only known as Ms. A for now, was seen pressing the door code at the BTS singer's home in Yongsan-gu multiple times. A local resident noticed it and tipped off the police, who arrived and detained her at the scene.

Officers confirmed there was no property damage or injuries. Jungkook wasn’t inside when the incident happened but it is worth noting that the 27-year-old had completed his armed service on that very day.

He enlisted in December 2023, served under the 5th Artillery Unit, and left service with the rank of sergeant. Authorities are now looking into why the woman went to the residence and whether there’s any prior link to Jungkook. Investigations are ongoing.

More about BTS Jungkook's military enlistment

BTS' Jungkook officially completed his mandatory army duties on June 11, 2025, with his bandmate Jimin. The two were released from service together after enlisting in late 2023.

Supporters and media crews started gathering early outside Yeoncheon Public Stadium in Gyeonggi-do to catch a glimpse. Both idols showed up in uniform, smiling and waving at the crowd.

The BTS' maknae thanked those who served with him and the fans who stood by them. The GOLDEN artist said the experience left him with everlasting memories. According to Billboard, he said that he had "a lot of unforgettable moments" during his time in the military before expressing gratitude towards fans and reporters who were there to support him.

Jimin also spoke briefly, saying it’s time to move forward with the plans they had before enlisting.

"It’s been a long time, from the pandemic to military service. Now that we’re back, we’ll work hard to show you what we’ve prepared," the Who singer added.

Both began their military journey at the same training base but were later placed in separate units. Other members of the band, Jin, j-hope, RM, and V had already finished their respective service terms. The only BTS member who is still completing his service is SUGA, who is working as a public service worker. His discharge is expected by June 21st. The band has remained on hiatus since 2023 owing to phased military inductions.

Jin was the first to join the army in December 2022, followed by j-hope in April 2023. SUGA began his public service in September, while RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook enlisted later in the same year.

With six members now out and SUGA nearing the finish line, the group is close to returning to joint activities. HYBE hasn’t released an official comeback timeline yet, but full-group promotions are expected once all members return.

As mentioned earlier, the investigation into the supposed break-in at Jungkook's apartment are still underway.
