ONE: High School Heroes ending explained and season 2 renewal possibilities explored: Did Kim Eui-gyeom win against his enemies?
ONE: High School Heroes dropped episodes 7 and 8 starring Lee Jung-ha and Kim Do-wan on Friday, June 13, 2025, on its official streaming platform, Wavve. ONE: High School Heroes depicted the stories of two young boys taking down brutes and bullies in high school who hound weak classmates and students.
Kim Eui-gyeom, depicted by Lee Jung-ha, is a recently transferred student to a new school. Kim Eui-gyeom is pressurized by his father to achieve high ranks in school. He does not get involved in physical violence unless provoked deliberately. The bullies' actions remind Kim Eui-gyeom of his father's pressure and torturous behavior, further triggering him to fight.
Meanwhile, his friend Kang Yun-ki (Kim Do-wan) is someone who looked at Kim Eui-gyeom's conflicts with bullies from afar. He grew close to him eventually and started giving him strong advice and helped him increase his combat skills. Kang Yun-ki can also fight, but he has a secret to hide due to a tragic incident involving his friend.
In the final episode of ONE: High School Heroes, Kim Eui-gyeom took down Choi Ki-soo (Yoo Hee-jae) in his final fight. During the fight, he saw his father, Kim Seok-tae; his brother, Kim Soo-gyeom; and himself in Choi Ki-soo, which further fueled his infuriation. With the transfer of Kang Yun-ki and Kim Eui-gyeom, the possibility of ONE: High School Heroes season 2 increases, hinting at a new chapter in a more gruesome environment.
ONE: High School Heroes ending explained—Kim Eui-gyeom's final fight, Kang Yun-ki takes action for friends
In ONE: High School Heroes episode 7, Kang Yun-ki and his friend Jin-soo were bullied by Kim Nam-hyub's (Hong Min-gi) gang. Kim Nam-hyub asked them to collect money from school students and give it to them, but they refused. One day Kim Nam-hyub’s gang caught the two and extorted money from Kang Yun-ki, who said he had collected the money.
Meanwhile, Jin-soo said he didn't have money. They asked Kang Yun-ki to leave the place alone and started beating Jin-soo. While returning, Kang Yun-ki looked back at the top floor where all the students were; he saw Choi Ki-soo pushing Jin-soo down, and he fell on the ground.
The scene cuts back to Choi Ki-soo’s fight with Kang Yun-ki in the present. Kang Yun-ki could not take him down, and Kim Eui-gyeom stepped in. Choi Ki-soo broke Kim Eui-gyeom’s hand and was about to break his other hand when Lee Geol-jae stopped him. Choi Ki-soo left the school.
Kim Eui-gyeom was unconscious and reminded of the time his brother Kim Soo-gyeom tried to strangle him. Kim Soo-gyeom was beaten up by Kim Seok-tae whenever he made a mistake. Although Kim Soo-gyeom did not want to hurt Kim Eui-gyeom, he found himself causing him harm.
Despite the pressure and abuse, Kim Soo-gyeom passed the finals and entered medical school. He wanted to quit due to the difficulty, but Kim Seok-tae did not let him. This eventually led him to take his own life. Later in ONE: High School Heroes episode 7, Kim Eui-gyeom gained consciousness and told his father that Kim Nam-hyub was behind his condition.
Kim Seok-tae could not do anything about this situation, as Kim Nam-hyub’s father was his boss at the hospital. Kim Seok-tae decided to send him to the US once he was discharged and asked Kang Yun-ki to stay away from him.
Kang Yun-ki visited Jin-soo at the hospital and told him he was guilty for not saving him that day. Jin-soo revealed that the day he was pushed down from the top floor, Choi Ki-soo and the others made a bet that Kang Yun-ki would come back. And since they saw him returning, they told Jin-soo to leave as their target changed to Kang Yun-ki. Jin-soo got worked up as he did not want Kang Yun-ki to get hurt. Jin-soo stated he was the one who saved Kang Yun-ki.
Meanwhile, Kim Eui-gyeom’s mother saw him trying to jump off the hospital building and decided to protect him against Kim Seok-tae. He refused to let him go to the US and shift to a guesthouse elsewhere. By the end of ONE: High School Heroes episode 7, Choi Ki-soo ganged up against Lee Geol-jae for meddling in his fight with Kim Eui-gyeom.
In ONE: High School Heroes episode 8, Lee Geol-jae is hospitalized, and Kang Yun-ki visits him. Lee Geol-jae asked him to quit his rage, as the amount of harm he would cause to others would someday return to him.
Kang Yun-ki confronted Choi Ki-soo as he took Kim Eui-gyeom’s Walkman. Although he could not win against him, Choi Ki-soo let him take the Walkman as it didn't work. Kim Eui-gyeom and his mother spent some time together having dinner, and as they returned to the guesthouse.
Kim Seok-tae and Kim Eui-gyeom’s grandfather brought cops along with them, citing her mental health as a reason for her rehabilitation. They took her along, but she didn't back down and contacted her lawyers immediately. The father and the grandfather were in a car with Kim Eui-gyeom discussing his future in the US. He received a call from Kang Yun-ki and escaped the car when the car was halted for a while.
Kang Yun-ki apologized to Kim Eui-gyeom for dragging him into his revenge plot and gave him Kim Soo-gyeom’s Walkman, which he got fixed. Kim Eui-gyeom recalled the time his brother introduced him to music. They gave him moments of peace where he forgot about his father.
As ONE: High School Heroes episode 8 progressed, Kim Eui-gyeom and Choi Ki-soo got into a battle once outside the school. Kim Seok-tae was looking for Kim Eui-gyeom, ran into Kang Yun-ki, and they went to the school together. Here, during Kim Eui-gyeom and Choi Ki-soo’s intense fight, the latter stated that they both are broken on the inside, and this was the reason why they were in such a situation.
ONE: High School Heroes Season 2 Renewal Possibilities Explored
By the end of the final episode, Kim Eui-gyeom's mother drops him by a bus stop that would take him to his new school. As he entered the bus, he reunited with Kang Yun-ki. Once they reached the school, the teacher in charge started beating students up so that they would get down in order.
A student must win against at least ten students to get out of the school, which resembled a prison. Unanswered questions about Lee Geol-jae and Kim Seung-joon raised curiosity. Additionally, it is not shown whether Kim Nam-hyub, Choi Ki-soo, and others were punished for their misdeeds and crimes. Due to this, there seems to be an increasing chance of ONE: High School Heroes season 2. However, Wavve or the production team of the series is yet to confirm the same.
Meanwhile, all eight episodes of ONE: High School Heroes are available on Wavve for streaming.
