Sabrina Carpenter drops limited edition picture disc for ‘Man’s Best Friend’ album
After a year of releasing Short n' Sweet, Sabrina Carpenter unveiled her next project, and it's coming out sooner than most imagined. On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the Grammy winner shared the cover art of what's going to be her seventh studio album on her Instagram.
In the cover art, she's in a black dress, kneeling beside a figure of a man standing off-camera while he grabs a handful of her blonde hair. The photo is a play on her upcoming album's title, Man's Best Friend, which she revealed in the accompanying photo. She included a picture of a puppy wearing a blue collar with a heart-shaped tag bearing the album title.
In the post's caption, she revealed when fans can expect her new musical project to arrive, writing,
"My new album, "Man's Best Friend" is out on August 29, 2025. I can't wait for it to be yours."
The new album is coming out six days after Short n' Sweet's first anniversary. It's the album that pushed Sabrina Carpenter to the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200, with three of the album's tracks reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Please Please Please took the No.1 spot, Taste at No.2, and Espresso at No.3. The album also won her the Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys.
Sabrina Carpenter recently released her new single, Manchild
Prior to announcing her new album and its release date, Sabrina Carpenter released Man's Best Friend's first single. The single dropped on Thursday, June 5, 2025, giving fans a new catchy song of the summer reminiscent of Short n' Sweet's Espresso.
She teased her new single a few days before with a blurry lo-fi video of her hitchhiking on the side of a deserted highway while wearing Daisy Dukes style clothing and sky-high heels. The following day, on June 4, she revealed the song title and the release date alongside a picture of her hitchhiking. In the caption, she cheekily wrote,
"This one's about you!!"
In Manchild, Sabrina Carpenter pokes fun at an incapable male partner—"so sexy if so dumb"—and sings about meeting such a man being "just so familiar." Another memorable line in the lyrics includes, "I swear they choose me, I'm not choosing them," which was plastered on roadside billboards along Interstate 69 before the release.
The music's June 25 release also included a reveal that a music video will be dropping a few days later, on Friday, June 10, 2025. The said video on YouTube now has over 18 million views and over 800k likes. In the nearly four-minute music video, Sabrina Carpenter hitchhikes her way through a series of mostly unthreatening but "stupid," "slow," and "useless" men she sings about.
Carpenter brings her audience to a romp in the American West in the Manchild music video, where she does everything from wielding a shotgun to drinking wine through a straw, swimming with sharks in a motel pool, hot-tubbing with pigs, and more.
Manchild is the first single for Man's Best Friend, which is set to be a 12-track album coming out on August 29, 2025.
