10 statistically worst shooters from 2023/24 NHL season ft. Jacob Trouba
Not everyone can make every shot or even the majority of the ones they take in the NHL. For starters, not all positions are geared towards shooting, and it's a skill that is not exactly universal for all players. Here are the top 10 players who struggled in this area during the 2023/2024 NHL season.

#10 Torey Krug
St. Louis Blues star Torey Krug made it into the top 10 of this inauspicious list. The player shot just 2.5 percent all season, a dreadful mark. He did add three goals and 18 assists though.
#9 Mario Ferraro
San Jose Sharks star Mario Ferraro (the second player on this list from the Sharks) struggled last year. He did score 21 points but it was on the back of a 2.4% shot percentage.
#8 Jacob Trouba
Despite shooting just 2.3% last year, New York Rangers star Jacob Trouba did record three goals and 19 assists. He was a -4 plus/minus despite those totals.
#7 Mikey Anderson
Mikey Anderson was one of the worst shooters statistically, shooting just 2.2% all season. The Los Angeles Kings player did have 16 assists, so he wasn't exactly totally inept offensively.
#6 Ryan Suter
Dallas Stars player Ryan Suter shot just 2% during the 2023-24 NHL season. It was a mark that the vast majority of other players surpassed with relative ease. He did have 17 points though.

Nicolas Hague shot just 1.9% last year, which was one of the worst marks in hockey. The Vegas Golden Knights player did have 10 assists and two goals.
#4 Jamie Oleksiak
Jamie Oleksiak struggled with the puck in 2023-2024. The Seattle Kraken star shot just 1.9% during the season, but he was able to add 15 points to his stat line despite that.
#3 Justin Faulk
One of the worst shooters in the NHL last year was St. Louis Blues star Justin Faulk. The player shot 1.5% last season, though he did score two goals and added 28 assists.
#2 Calen Addison
San Jose Sharks defenseman Calen Addison did not have a good season shooting the puck. He had a 1.1 shot percentage, which was one-tenth of a point from being the worst in the NHL.
#1 Nick Seeler
Nick Seeler was the worst shooter in hockey last year. The Philadelphia Flyers player shot 1% all season. It was not his strong suit and it showed all season long, though he did record 13 total points.
