3 least impressive Boston Bruins players from 2-0 shutout loss to Vancouver Canucks
The Boston Bruins couldn't get the job done against the visiting Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday (November 26) night at TD Garden, falling by a 2-0 score and losing their first game under new head coach Joe Sacco.
Sacco had previously been undefeated since taking over the role of head coach following the termination of Jim Montgomery; the Bruins defeated the Utah Hockey Club 1-0 and the Detroit Red Wings 2-1.
Sacco didn't like the fact that his players couldn't bury the multiple chances they had, especially since they outshot the Canucks by a wide margin and yet still came up empty.
“We just have to start burying our chances,” said Sacco. “I think that we’re giving ourselves a chance to compete in games now. Guys are defending hard, but offensively we have to get some guys going to find their scoring touch.”
Tuesday's game was also the return of Jake DeBrusk to Boston for the first time since he agreed to a seven-year contract with the Canucks during the summer.
Who were the least effective Bruins players who failed to make a difference in their shutout loss?

#3. Defenseman Andrew Peeke
While it wasn't an overall poor performance for the Bruins defenseman, he failed to adequately cover DeBrusk in front of the net, which allowed him to have an easy tap-in goal past goaltender Jeremy Swayman.
The goal stood up as the game-winner, marking a goal for DeBrusk on his return to Boston.
#2. Elias Lindholm
The struggles of Elias Lindholm, whom the Boston Bruins inked to a free-agent contract during the offseason, continued against the Canucks.
He was largely ineffective and also registered a -1 rating. Right now, the Bruins aren't getting the kind of offensive punch that they envisioned when they brought him in.
#1. David Pastrnak
The Bruins sniper, who is relied upon to score goals, had several chances against goaltender Kevin Lankinen, including a breakaway opportunity. He failed to score on each of them.
Sacco said that they need better execution from their top players, something that didn't take place on Tuesday.
"I’m sure they're frustrated, but we can’t let that settle in on us," Sacco said. "The guys just need to dig in and bear down."
The Boston Bruins will have the chance to follow their coach's words and dig in when they next hit the ice against the New York Islanders on Wednesday.
