
Aleksander Barkov is an ice hockey center, serving as the captain of the Florida Panthers as of May 2025. He began his career with Tappara in the Finnish Elite League from 2010 to 2013. Brakov was drafted by the Panthers in the 2013 NHL entry draft.
Barkov debuted with the Florida Panthers in the 2013–14 season as the NHL's youngest player. He became the Panthers' captain in 2018 and set a franchise record with 96 points, winning the Lady Byng Trophy. Barkov led the Panthers to four straight playoff appearances from 2020 to 2023, earning the Selke Trophy in 2021. In 2024, he captained Florida to its first Stanley Cup and became the first Finnish-born captain to win it.
