Presently, Brad Marchand serves as the captain of the Bruins. Born on May 11, 1988, the left winger was selected in the third round, 71st overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Bruins and is still playing for them. Brad has achieved significant success over the years with the team including winning the Stanley Cup in 2011. Notably, he was appointed as the captain of the Bruins on September 20, 2023, after the retirement of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejčí during the 2023 off season.

Marchand holds many records in the Boston Bruins history including the most overtime goals (16), shorthanded goals (31), and goals in playoff elimination games (10). He scored the fastest playoff goal in the history of the franchise with 39 seconds. Additionally, he holds the honor of receiving the eighth-most suspensions in NHL history.

Apart from records, Brad has achieved several awards in his tenure with the Bruins such as the Seventh Player Award in 2011 and 2016. He's also been honored with the Elizabeth C. Dufresne Trophy in 2012, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021, the John P. Bucyk Award in 2012, and the Eddie Shore Award in 2014 and 2021.
