Corey Perry is a professional Canadian ice hockey right-winger playing for the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Moreover, the fans affectionately call him Scorey Perry" and "the Worm." Perry began his minor ice hockey career with the Peterborough Minor Petes in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) before continuing with the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he was drafted fifth overall in 2001. He achieved significant success with the Knights, winning the OHL championship and a Memorial Cup in 2005. Remarkably, he claimed top awards like Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy, Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy, Red Tilson Trophy, Wayne Gretzky 99 Award and Stafford Smythe Memorial Trophy among other top honors such as CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game and Memorial Cup All-Star Game appearance.

Transitioning to the NHL, Perry began his journey with the Anaheim Ducks after he was drafted 28th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Notwithstanding, he spent 14 seasons with the Ducks, winning the Stanley Cup in 2007 and earning other top honors such as the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy, Hart Memorial Trophy and to add cherry on the cake, he also had five NHL All-Star Game appearances with them. Perry then had stints with the Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Corey Perry's Parents

Corey Perry was born on May 16, 1985, in Haileybury, Ontario, to parents Geoff and Nancy Perry. His father Geoff worked in law enforcement while his mother Nancy worked as a nurse.

As a newborn, Corey faced significant challenges as he was diagnosed with clubfoot when he was just six months old. However, timely treatment cured him of that and started skating soon. At five, he played his first organized hockey game and at eight he smashed records with incredible number which was only the glimpse of his talents. When Perry turned 10, the family moved from Haileybury to Peterborough, Ontario.

Corey Perry's Siblings

Corey Perry has a brother named Adam Perry who is two years younger than him. He is presently into law enforcement like his father and also served as player and coach until a few years ago. Him alongside Corey, the Perry brothers developed a strong interest in ice hockey early on, spending hours watching games. Their favorite team were the Montreal Canadiens and they both dreamt of playing for them one day. ecognizing their passion, their father built a backyard rink, which became their first training ground.

Corey and Adam’s dream of playing ice hockey came true with the London Knights in the OHL. Both of them played on the London Knights' 2005 Memorial Cup-winning team. However, Adam Llater served as an assistant coach for the London Nationals Junior B Team.

Corey Perry's Wife

Corey Perry is married to Blakney Perry. The couple tied the knot in July 2015. Notably, Perry met his future wife Blankey through a mutual friend at a bar in London where Blakeny was working as a bartender. The duo instantly felt for each other and soon went on their first date together at the African Lion Safari, setting stage for years of togetherness and maternal bliss. They also collaboratively work for charties with Blakney especially involved in Lady Duck Soiree, the Learn to Play Programme, and the Ronald McDonald House programme.

Corey Perry's Kids

Corey and Blakney welcomed the arrival of their loving son Griffen in August 2017. Griffen is around 7 years old now and is a big fan of Perry and his teams. Moreover, he often shows up to his games and have also been mic'd up on during games, where he can be seen cheering for his father.
