Dallas Stars Stanley Cup History-

The Dallas Stars secured their first Stanley Cup championship in the 1998-99 season, following strategic additions to their roster, including star winger Brett Hull. Having clinched their first Pacific Division title and President's Trophy, the Stars set a franchise record with 114 points in the regular season. The team's formidable defense, highlighted by Jere Lehtinen winning the Frank J. Selke Trophy added to their success.

In the playoffs, the Stars faced and swept the Edmonton Oilers in the first round, with Joe Nieuwendyk scoring the decisive goal in the third overtime period of Game 4. The second round against the St. Louis Blues saw the Stars triumph in six games, concluding with an overtime goal by Mike Modano. The Conference Finals against the Colorado Avalanche went to a thrilling Game 7, where the Stars emerged victorious, earning a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Facing the Buffalo Sabres, the Stars engaged in a hard-fought series. After splitting the first four games, Dallas secured a 2-0 victory in Game 5 and a 2-1 win in Game 6, the latter featuring a triple-overtime goal by Brett Hull. Hull's controversial goal, which involved a lengthy review due to the crease rule, marked the 13th Stanley Cup-winning goal in overtime and the fourth in multiple overtimes.
