Located in the Miami Metropolitan area, Florida, the Panthers are a professional ice hockey team competing in the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). Moreover, they participate in the Atlantic Division and compete against some of most formidable sides in the league which includes the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Montereal Canadians among notable others. Moreover, they initially played their home games at Miami Arena but later relocated to the Amerant Bank Arena in 1998, situated in Sunrise, Florida. On the other hand, Aleksander Barkov serves as the captain while Paul Maurice, a former ice hockey player takes care of the coaching duties of the Panthers while Bill Zato, an American ice hockey executive, serves as a general manager of the team. Matter of factly, the team is owned by Sunrise Sports and Entertainment and Bally Sports Florida, formerly known as SportsChannel.

The Panthers made their impact in the league immediately after their establishment by setting the record for the most points in their debut season by an expansion team. Later the Vegas Golden Knights surpassed their record in the 2017-2018 season. The Panthers have never won any Stanley Cup. However, they have secured four Divisional Championships, one Presidents Trophy, and two Conference Championships.

Florida Panthers NHL Playoff History and Appearances

The Florida Panthers have played 29 (completed) seasons in the NHL and appeared in only 9 playoffs till date. Notably, they are one of 11 active NHL teams to have never won a Stanley Cup in their history. However, they have made it two finals till date, albeit losing them both. Importanlty, it was just in their third season in the NHL when they reached the Stanley Cup finals. That season they got rid of the Bruins, Flyers and the Penguins enroute to the finals. Goaltender John Vanbiesbrouck stood tall however the Avalanche were too good in the finals. The subsequent seasons saw them make only 4 appearances in 22 seasons before a revival in 2023.

The Florida Panthers have secured the Conference Championship twice, first in the 1995-1996 season and second in the 2022-2023 season. Throughout their history, there have been many memorable moments alongside many bad ones.
