"6 months without you": Boone Jenner's wife Maggie pens emotionally heartbreaking message for stillborn son Dawson
Columbus Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner and his wife Maggie posted a deeply emotional message on Instagram, marking six months since the loss of their stillborn son, Dawson. On April 3, the couple shared the tragic news that their son was stillborn one month before his expected arrival.
On Tuesday, Maggie Jenner shared a carousel of pictures in memory of their child. In her heartfelt post, Maggie reflected on how 2024 was supposed to be a joyous year, celebrating six months with their baby. Instead, she finds herself grieving his loss.
“Dawson, we miss you every single day. It’s strange, missing someone who never had the chance to breathe the same air as us. I never would have understood this feeling until losing you, but now, it’s a part of me. I miss you with every fiber of my being.”
Maggie recalled the difficult goodbye on March 31, when they had to let go of their son. She also reflected on the postpartum challenges of coping with the loss.
“In those painful but precious moments at the hospital, I felt an honor I’ve never known before, from carrying you for 8 months to holding your tiny hand. Even though I was terrified, I was filled with a love that’s beyond words.”
“I always feared postpartum and how my mental health would cope, but I never imagined the intensity of facing it without you in my arms. All I want is to hold you, to never let go.”
Maggie shared how she was mourning the future she and Boone had dreamed of with their child, but will never get to experience.
“The past few months have been the hardest of my life. I long to feel your hand wrapped around my finger, to caress your sweet face, gaze at your beautiful pout (that you got from your daddy), and kiss your tiny little feet. I want to watch you sleep, hear your cries, change your diapers, and savor every moment as you grow up—moments that will forever remain dreams for us ”
“DJ, my baby boy, your absence has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. We’ll always love you, and we’ll always miss you. Forever in our hearts, Mom and Dad 💙”
She also reached out to other parents who know the pain of such loss, assuring them that they are not alone. She thanked the family and friends who had supported them during this difficult time.
