NHL: Stanley Cup Playoffs-Boston Bruins at Florida Panthers

$90,000,000 Bruins star meets up with Jaromir Jagr, Martin Necas, and Roman Cervenka for 2v2 pickup game

On Wednesday, Boston Bruins star forward David Pastrnak met up with three of his fellow countrymen to play a 2v2 pickup game.

Pastrnak has just completed the first year of his eight-year, $90,000,000 deal with the Bruins. He played in a pickup game with current NHLer Martin Necas and former NHLers Jaromir Jagr and Roman Cervenka.

Jagr is arguably the best player from the Czech. Pastrnak is a perennial All-Star and Necas is just 25 and entering his prime. Cervenka, meanwhile, had a brief cup of coffee in the NHL as he skated in 39 games.

With all four having played in the NHL and living in Czech, they got together for a 2v2 pickup game.

David Pastrnak 'super proud' of Bruins season

David Pastrnak and the Boston Bruins were eliminated in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoff by eventual champions Florida Panthers.

Although Boston didn't win the Cup, Pastrnak said he was proud of his team's accomplishments last season.

“I’m super proud of the group,” Pastrnak said on May 19 during Boston’s end-of-the-season availability (via NESN). “We got much younger. We have some experienced guys who came in and won the (Stanley) Cup and did an unbelievable job that any player could learn from."
"Guy grabbed the opportunity that came and did a job, so very proud. A lot of people were saying we weren’t going to make the playoffs and we’d be (in) a wild-card spot and I think we put ourselves in a good spot from going into the playoffs.”

Pastrnak did score the OT winner in Game 7 of the first round against the Toronto Maple Leafs to punch his team's ticket to the second round.

Pastrnak recorded 47 goals and 63 assists for 110 points in 82 games last season. In the playoffs, he added four goals and four assists for eight points in 13 games.

After the Bruins' playoff exit, he went to the world champions and helped Czech win the gold medal.
