Edmonton Oilers star winger Evander Kane announced his engagement to his partner Mara Teigen through a heartfelt slideshow shared on Instagram.

"The love of my life"
Evander Kane's three children seemed to have played a key role in his proposal to Teigen. In a touching display, the kids wore shirts that, when combined with Kane's shirt, spelled out the question:
"Will you marry me"
This creative and heartfelt gesture added a special touch to the proposal, highlighting the importance of family on the momentous occasion. Kane and Mara Teigen share two sons, Iverson and Hendrix.
Evander Kane was previously married to Anna Kane, with whom he has a daughter, Kensington. The couple divorced in 2020. The involvement of the children not only made the proposal memorable but also emphasized the strong bond Kane and Teigen share as a family.

Evander Kane expected to miss the start of the season
Kane sustained a sports hernia during the 2023-24 season, which eventually sidelined him in the Stanley Cup Final, resulting in him missing five of the seven games.
Last month, Oilers GM Stan Bowman spoke about Kane's injury during a press conference (via Sportsnet):
“I don’t have any say-so in that, nor should I,” Bowman said. “The most important thing for me is to support Evander in making sure that he gets healthy.”
Kane is now in rehabilitation for his injury, and it's widely expected that the 33-year-old will miss the start of the season for the Edmonton Oilers. Last term, he accumulated 44 points - through 24 goals and 20 assists - in 77 games.
In the playoffs, Kane garnered eight points through four goals and as many assists in 20 games as the Oilers reached the Stanley Cup Final, where they lost to the Florida Panthers in a nail-biting Game 7.
