Alex Ovechkin's wife Nastasiya shares pictures from Capitals Ladies Christmas party

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin’s wife Nastasiya was among the partners of Caps players who attended the Capitals Ladies Christmas Party 2024. On Tuesday, Nastasiya shared a few pictures on her Instagram stories from the event.

Also in attendance were some familiar faces from the Capitals’ family. Taylor Pischke, wife of Tom Wilson, Nicklas Backstrom’s partner Liza Berg, T.J. Oshie’s wife Lauren, Jakob Chychrun's girlfriend Liv, and Aliaksei Protas’s wife Tatsiana were all present at the party.

Nastasiya resposted a group collage of the ladies from the evening wearing Christmas colored pajamas with red and white stripes. The photo was originally posted by Tatsiana Protas on her story.

Tatsiana also shared a picture of a uniquely decorated Christmas tree from the party. The tree was decorated with separate ribbons containing the names of the Caps ladies.

Nastasiya Ovechkina posted a close-up of a table setting at the party with golden goblets on a striped tablecloth. On the table was lying a red menu with golden reindeer designs and the text “Capitals Ladies Christmas Party 2024” embossed on it. The ladies had special bracelets made for the occassion with their names on them.

Jakob Chychrun's girlfriend Liv also shared a few snaps from the eveing. Liv shared a few pictures on her stories as well which included a food spread with charcuterie, fruits, veggies, and dips, along with cocktail menus. She posted a mirror selfie of herself in the pajama.

Alex Ovechkin and Natasiya attended Wizards NBA Cup game

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin suffered a fractured left fibula during a game against the Utah Hockey Club in November, sidelining him for 4-6 weeks. Despite the injury, Ovechkin and his wife Nastasiya were seen attending the NBA In-Season Tournament game between the Washington Wizards and the Boston Celtics at Capital One Arena.

Ovechkin was dressed in all red with a Washington Wizards cap and enjoyed the game courtside. The official Washington Wizards’ X handle welcomed him with a post that featured a photo of him holding a red shimmery basketball and giving a thumbs up.

Nastasiya later shared clips from the event on her Instagram Stories. She sat in the stands and posted some game clips while also filming her husband sitting courtside during the match.

While Alex Ovechkin is sidelined and is taking some time away from the court, he received heavy praise from his former teammate Evgeny Kuznetsov, now playing for SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL. While speaking to Sports Express, Kuznetsov asserted Ovechkin’s ability to play through injuries claiming he has a ‘mountain of muscles’.

“He has heroic health,” Kuznetsov said, per Pavel Lysenkov of Match TV (translated from Russian via Google) “Some people have it, but many don’t. He trained a lot, he has a mountain of muscles.”

“He once broke a finger but kept playing. Sasha doesn’t tell anyone, he just keeps going.”

Ovechkin had been off to a dominant start before his injury, leading the NHL with 15 goals in 18 games. Kuznetsov credited Ovechkin’s intense training and physical durability saying that he will bounce back stronger as he recovers.
