Brad Marchand drops hilarious 5-word reaction to his romantic song promo for NHL 15

Back in 2014, in a promotional video released by EA Sports ahead of the launch of NHL 15, then Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand strummed a guitar and performed a humorous ballad titled “I Want to Marry NHL 15.”

The video has resurfaced and was reposted by the Instagram account “Five Hole” on Saturday with the caption:

“Brad Marchand didn’t just play NHL 15 — he wanted to marry it.”

Marchand noticed the post and shared it on his Instagram stories. In the caption, he added:

Brad Marchand is currently playing for the Florida Panthers following his unexpected trade from Boston at this year’s trade deadline. He scored the game-winning goal in double overtime of Game 2 against the Edmonton Oilers, tying the ongoing Stanley Cup Final at one game apiece.

Paul Maurice has high praise for Brad Marchand

Despite being new to the team, Brad Marchand has quickly become an important part of the Panthers’ playoff success. He now has three goals in the first two games of the final series.

Panthers head coach Paul Maurice shared how much he values Marchand’s energy and leadership after his clutch performance in Game 2. He explained that Marchand is always encouraging teammates on the bench and brings great spirit to the locker room.

“Truly, he’s a unique human,” Maurice said, according to NHL insider Chris Johnston. “In the northern parlance, he’s a beauty.”

Maurice also described him as someone who loves the game and was quickly welcomed by the team.

“Brad's an honest man,” Maurice said, according to Burnaby Now. “He loves the game. He loves the people around him. He's very open, very gregarious. He (was) completely accepted.”
“An incredibly positive human being. He's up and down our bench all the time just pumping tires, stays in the fight. He is going to be the same way at breakfast (Saturday) morning. He's just going to be jacked, high-fiving everybody at the table.”

After the game, Panthers alternate captain Matthew Tkachuk shared that many players had guessed Marchand would score the overtime goal.

“We were upbeat, joking around, having some fun, picking guys who we think was going to score,” Tkachuk told reporters. “I’m sure a lot of guys probably had Marchy.”

The Panthers have made it to back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals. Game 3 now takes the series to Florida.
