"He played through an elbow injury during all of the 2023-24 season, while another two injuries happened late in 2023-24 regular season," Anderson said.
He added that the four-time All-Star underwent multiple surgeries this summer.
"Brad Marchand underwent three surgeries this past summer. Elbow (torn tendon), groin and abdominal.
With the start of the regular season about a month away, fans wonder if Marchand will return in time for Boston's first match. Anderson believes the Bruins standout will be ready by opening day.
The Bruins open their season on Oct. 8 against the defending NHL champion Florida Panthers.
Marchand prefers to keep contract talks lowkey as he enters the last year of his current deal
Brad Marchand is currently preparing for a return to NHL action. The Bruins mainstay enters his 13th year with Boston this fall. However, his contract with the franchise expires after the upcoming season.
While talking to the media, Marchand discussed his Bruins' future.
"I'm gonna say this now and leave it at that. I won't talk about contract stuff with the media."
Marchand complimented the maturity his teammates and management have displayed while handling his contract situation.
"Whatever goes on will stay internal between (Don Sweeney) and our group. I'll leave it at that. I think there's enough respect between the two sides that we can deal with it."
It will be interesting to see how Marchand's Bruins story unfolds, as the 36-year-old still performs at the highest level for the perennial playoff contender.
