Brady Tkachuk makes his sense of satisfaction with Ottawa Senators SoCal road trip extremely clear

Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk voiced disappointment following the team’s Southern California road trip. The Senators secured a 4-3 win against San Jose, lost 5-2 to Los Angeles, and fell 4-3 in a shootout to Anaheim.

When asked about his level of satisfaction with the Senators' three points from a maximum of six points during the Southern California road trip, the 24-year-old captain said:

"Right now all we care about is winning and (doing) whatever it takes to win and we got full belief in this group that, things are gonna turn up for us and it’s just time to dig deep and the answer’s in that room and we’re gonna find it and be the best version of ourselves."

The Senators began the trip with a hard-fought victory against the San Jose Sharks, highlighted by solid goaltending from Linus Ullmark and key contributions from Adam Gaudette.

However, they stumbled against the Kings, where Anton Forsberg struggled. In the last game of their road trip, they forced a shootout against Anaheim but ultimately lost, despite Ullmark’s return to the net.

"I'm really happy with how we responded from the adversity throughout the game," Ullmark said per NHL.com

Frank Vatrano starred for Anaheim with two goals and an assist. Ottawa was playing average on the defensive front. The Senators leave California with 10-12-2 record.

Tkachuk tied it 2-2 early in the second period, scoring his rebound with a backhand shot at 37 seconds. Linus Ullmark stopped Vatrano’s breakaway soon after. Vatrano scored again in the third period at 4:37, putting Anaheim ahead 3-2 by finishing a loose puck in the slot.

Ottawa quickly tied it 3-3 at 5:46. Nick Cousins redirected Michael Amadio’s backhand shot into the net during a scramble. Neither team scored again in regulation or overtime.

In the shootout, Trevor Zegras and Troy Terry scored for Anaheim. Lukas Dostal stopped both Ottawa attempts to secure the win.

Ottawa will play the Red Wings on Thursday.
