Bruins' David Pastrnak explains why he never texts and only uses FaceTime for conversations

David Pastrnak can be contacted by phone, but if someone's planning to send him a text, they might want to think again. The Boston Bruins star will see the text, but if it's long, he's not going to respond at all. Instead, he prefers another form of communication.

Via Sportsnet, he said:

“I’m super bad at texting. Any time a text is longer than one sentence, there’s no reply from me. I panic when I see long texts. Always easier to FaceTime. I like to see the person — eye contact.”

Pastrnak, 28, grew up in the technology era. However, texting is just something that he never took to, and he prefers to see people when he's talking with them.

David Pastrnak recalls World Championship

David Pastrnak wants to win the Stanley Cup Final with the Boston Bruins. It's his stated next goal, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. However, he and fellow Czech player Petr Mrazek fondly recall their win in the 2024 IIHF Men's World Championship.

Mrazek said he'd never forget Pastrnak's game-winning goal. It resulted in a surprising and unexpected celebration from the star player, who said:

“That’s awesome. I probably will too. I could never see myself going on my knees celebrating a goal. I thought I would never, ever do that. But there were so many emotions and so much relief … so much excitement.” [via TSN].

The jubilation that followed in their own nation was something both players said they needed. Mrazek mentioned that they had genuinely done something good for their country.

Pastrnak added:

“I took the first two steps and the first thing I was thinking was, ‘I want to re-live it again.’ I was already saying, ‘I want this again.’ I needed this win for my career, because I’ve been waiting for a big win like that. But I’m more happy for the country that we won it here.”

With hockey coming back to the Olympics soon, they might have the chance to win for their country once again.
