Carey Price's wife Angela doesn't hold back regarding Paris Olympics women's boxing gender row

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price's wife Angela shared her views on the controversy rocking women's boxing at the Paris Olympics.

When asked for her thoughts during an Instagram Q&A, Price said:

“That saying 'common sense isn't very common these days'....a woman will never be able to compete at the same level as a man and I think it is heart breaking for these women born athletes, heartbreaking! Do you, dress and act however you like, but there are limits.”

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif was at the center of controversy during her clash with Italian Angela Carini. The match ended after 46 seconds when Carini quit due to pain from Khelif’s punches. Carini said the pain in her nose was too much, but insisted her decision to step away was not due to politics.

Khelif was disqualified from the 2023 World Championships by the IBA due to gender eligibility issues and Carini's early exit sparked a debate about the Algerian's participation.

It's important to note that the IBA was stripped of its status by the IOC last year due to financial problems and issues with governance among other factors. The IOC is overseeing boxing at the Olympics and eligibility rules date back to the 2016 Rio Olympics, paving the way for Khelif to compete.

Carey Price's wife Angela shares high school memories

Angela Price, Carey Price's wife, recently shared high school memories on Instagram as her 20-year reunion approaches. She recalled hosting parties almost every weekend while her parents were away at their cabin. Angela mentioned that every yearbook entry from that time referred to these parties.

"My parents were away most weekends (we had a cabin they loved going to) so I threw parties all the time ... just about every note in my yearbook mentions these parties," Angela wrote.

Angela noted how things have changed with modern security cameras and cellphone tracking. She’s glad her children won’t have the same freedom she did. Angela’s mom joked about grounding her in the comments; Angela replied that it was too late for that now.

"I don't know how I ever got away with it. And thank god for house cameras and trackable cell phones ... our kids will never get away with this kind of stuff," Angela added.
