Carolina Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis has a hilarious reason for not wanting to be picked for 2024 NHL All-Star Game
Carolina Hurricanes forward Seth Jarvis took a humorous approach to declining a potential spot in the 2024 NHL All-Star Game, set to take place on Feb. 3 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
In a postgame interview Thursday, Jarvis revealed his lighthearted reason for not wanting to be picked for the prestigious event, much to the amusement of fans and the hockey community.
In a tweet shared by B/R Open Ice, the caption encapsulated Jarvis' spirited announcement:
"IT'S TOO LATE! I'm going to Mexico."
Jarvis expressed his gratitude towards the fans who had dedicated their time and effort to vote for him, acknowledging their support.
During the interview, Seth Jarvis playfully revealed:
"It's too late. I'm going to Mexico. I got a nonrefundable trip now, so I'm totally set on warm weather. But I still do appreciate all the effort."
Despite his apparent reluctance to participate in the All-Star festivities, Jarvis showcased his on-ice power in Thursday's game against the Anaheim Ducks. With a goal and two assists, he played a significant role in extending the Carolina Hurricanes' points streak to seven games.
The Canes' 6-3 victory over the Ducks was proof of Carolina's resilience, even in the face of challenges such as losing their goalie in the second period.
