Connor McDavid’s 1000-point milestone elicits heartfelt reaction from wife Lauren Kyle

Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid became the 99th player in NHL history to score 1,000 career points. McDavid hit the 1,000-point mark scoring off a perfect pass from Draisaitl during a two-on-one play against the Nashville Predators on Thursday night.

The goal brought fans to their feet at Rogers Place, with Oilers players spilling onto the ice in celebration. McDavid’s wife, Lauren Kyle, shared her excitement on Instagram with heartfelt stories.

She posted clips of the recorded moment from her TV when the Oilers captain scored the historic goal.

“1000!!!!! AH SO proud of you!!! ❤️💙👏,” Lauren Kyle wrote in the caption.

She reposted the NHL and Edmonton Oilers celebratory post for Connor McDavid’s 1,000-point milestone.

The Edmonton Oilers congratulated their superstar on his historic achievement with posts on Instagram.

“29 to 97, couldn’t have scripted 1,000 any better than this 🤌 #LetsGoOilers,” the official IG handle of the Oilers said.

This milestone makes McDavid the fourth-fastest player in NHL history to reach 1,000 points, achieving it in just 659 games. Only Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and Mike Bossy reached the mark faster.

Among Oilers legends, McDavid joins an elite group, alongside Gretzky, Jari Kurri, and Mark Messier, to reach 1,000 points with the team.

Leon Draisatl hands Connor McDavid game puck after historic goal

Edmonton Oilers star Leon Draisaitl gave teammate Connor McDavid a special gift after McDavid netted his 1,000th career NHL point. Draisatl, who was mic’d up on the occasion, celebrated passionately with the other Oilers teammates and cheered for his captain as the entire Rogers Arena erupted for McDavid.

To mark the occasion, Draisaitl presented McDavid with the puck from the historic goal.

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl share fantastic chemistry on and off the ice. Earlier on Wednesday, the Oilers forward hailed his captain as the greatest NHL player of all time.
