Jamie Benn took a moment Tuesday to honor his brother Jordie, who retired from hockey. Sharing the news on Instagram, Jamie expressed pride in Jordie's hard-earned success. He reposted a Dallas Stars tribute and captioned his story:
"Congrats bro! Couldn't have asked for a better person to show me what hard work can get you. Earned every bit of it. Proud of you!!"

At 37, Jordie Benn announced his retirement during an interview with CHEK News' Paul Haysom. Reflecting on his 12-year career, Jordie called it "a really fun ride." He was never drafted but fought his way into the NHL in 2012. He made his debut with the Dallas Stars, where he played alongside Jamie, forming a strong sibling connection on the ice.
Jordie Benn spent his career with multiple NHL teams, such as the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs. He played 607 games, contributing 137 points, with 26 goals and 111 assists.
Jordie's journey wasn’t easy, as he admitted:
“A lot of people thought I never should have made it, and maybe I shouldn’t have, but I just worked as hard as I could every night and tried to be the best teammate possible.”
Jordie played his last season with Brynas IF in Sweden. He capped his career by helping them win the championship in 2024.
